Introduction

The eufy Security Smart Lock C34 offers advanced keyless entry and seamless integration with your smart home ecosystem. Setup and Installation

The eufy Smart Lock C34 is designed for easy, 15-minute DIY installation without the need for drilling, compatible with standard doors in the US and Canada.

1. Prepare the Door

Ensure your door meets the following specifications for proper installation:

  • Door Thickness: 1 3/8" - 2 1/8" (35mm - 55mm)
  • Cross Bore Diameter: 1 1/2" / 2 1/8" (38mm / 54mm)
  • Backset Distance: 2 3/8" / 2 3/4" (60mm / 70mm)
  • Minimum Distance: 1 3/4" (45mm)

2. Install the Deadbolt

Measure the backset distance from the center of the hole to the edge of the door. Adjust the latch to 60mm or 70mm as needed by twisting it clockwise 180 degrees to extend the length. Insert the deadbolt into the door, ensuring the word "TOP" is oriented upwards and the T-shaped hub is centered. Secure the deadbolt with screws.

3. Install the Exterior Keypad

If your door's hole diameter is 54mm, install the keypad directly. If it's 38mm, remove the spacer from the keypad. Make sure the cable goes underneath the deadbolt. Align the exterior keypad with the deadbolt and feed the cable through the door hole.

4. Install the Interior Assembly

Run the cable through the rectangular slot on the mounting plate. Align the mounting bracket with the threaded screw receptacles of the exterior keypad. Use your fingers to position the screws and screw them in a few turns, then use a screwdriver to finish screwing them in and secure the bracket firmly to your door. Plug the cable of the exterior keypad into the socket in the rear of the interior assembly. Route the cable around the tailpiece receiver to avoid pinching during installation. Align the T-shaped tailpiece with the T-shaped tailpiece receiver. Make sure the deadbolt is retracted and the thumb turn is in the unlocked position, then push the interior assembly into place. Check that the deadbolt functions properly by turning the thumb turn. Lock and unlock the deadbolt a few times to ensure it operates smoothly. Ensure the depth of the strike hole in the door frame is at least 1" (25.4mm), otherwise calibration may fail during setup, and the lock may not function as expected. Insert and tighten a screw into the hole below the thumb turn of the interior assembly, then insert and tighten two screws into the two holes directly below the battery compartment.

5. Insert Batteries and Setup via App

To insert the batteries: Insert the inner layer of batteries from bottom to top. Insert the outer layer of batteries from bottom to top. Open the eufy Security app on your phone and scan your lock's QR code, then follow the instructions to set up the lock. Once setup is complete, reinstall the battery cover. Your lock is now ready to use.

Emergency Power:

In case the batteries die completely, you can use a portable charger to unlock your Smart Lock via the hack-proof emergency power port located at the bottom of the exterior keypad. This port is for emergency power supply only and does not allow data transfer.

Cleaning:

Wipe the exterior and interior components of the lock with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.

Troubleshooting

Calibration Issues:

If the lock is not functioning as expected after installation, ensure the strike hole in the door frame is at least 1" (25.4mm) deep. Incorrect depth can lead to calibration failure. You can recalibrate the lock via the eufy Security app.

Door Alignment:

The lock's performance can be sensitive to door alignment and friction in the latch/strike area. If the door is not pulled tight or aligned perfectly, the bolt may not retract or extend properly. Ensure your door is properly aligned for smooth operation.

Wrong-Try Protection:

The lock features wrong-try protection. If an incorrect passcode or fingerprint is entered too many times consecutively, the lock will temporarily enter a lockdown period to prevent unauthorized access.

Connectivity Issues:

If experiencing issues with app control or smart home integration, ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable and the lock is within range. For Matter connectivity, ensure you have a compatible Matter hub (e.g., Apple HomePod, Google Nest Hub, Amazon Echo devices).
