  • Converts voltages between 100V-120V and 220V-240V.
  • 500W power capacity, suitable for various household electrical appliances.
  • High efficiency toroidal transformer for stable output and low consumption.
  • Equipped with dual circuit breakers for enhanced safety.
  • Compact and portable design with a carrying handle.

2. Safety Precautions

Always observe the following safety guidelines to prevent electric shock, fire, or damage to the unit and connected appliances.

  • Do not exceed the maximum power rating of 500W.
  • Ensure the input voltage selector on the back of the unit matches your local power supply before connecting.
  • Use in a well-ventilated area. Do not cover ventilation openings.
  • Keep away from water, moisture, and high temperatures.
  • Do not open the casing. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Unplug the unit from the power source when not in use.

3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your transformer:

  1. Unpack the Unit: Carefully remove the transformer from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
  2. Choose a Location: Place the transformer on a stable, flat surface in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for air circulation.
  3. Select Input Voltage: Locate the input voltage selector switch on the rear panel of the transformer.

Figure 3: Rear view of the ST-500 transformer, highlighting the input voltage selector (110V/220V) and the fuse compartment.

Set the switch to match your local power supply voltage (e.g., 110V for North America, 220V for Europe/Asia). Incorrect voltage selection can damage the unit and connected appliances.

  4. Connect to Power Source: Plug the transformer's power cord into a grounded wall outlet. The "POWER SOURCE" indicator light on the front panel should illuminate.

4. Operating Instructions

To operate the ST-500 transformer:

  1. Power On: Ensure the transformer is plugged into the wall outlet and the input voltage is correctly selected. Flip the red "POWER ON/OFF" switch to the "ON" position. The "POWER SOURCE" indicator light should be green.
  2. Connect Appliance:
    • If your appliance requires 110V output, plug it into the "OUTPUT 110V" socket.
    • If your appliance requires 220V output, plug it into the "OUTPUT 220V" socket.

Figure 4: Close-up view of the output sockets, clearly labeled for 110V and 220V.

Always ensure the appliance's power consumption does not exceed the transformer's 500W capacity.

  3. Use Appliance: Turn on your connected appliance. The transformer will convert the voltage as required.
  4. Power Off: When finished, turn off your appliance first, then flip the transformer's "POWER ON/OFF" switch to "OFF". Unplug the appliance from the transformer, and then unplug the transformer from the wall outlet.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your transformer.

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the transformer from all power sources before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Ventilation: Regularly check that the ventilation grilles are free from dust and obstructions.

Figure 5: Side view of the ST-500 transformer, illustrating the ventilation grilles for heat dissipation.

  • Fuse Replacement: The transformer is equipped with a fuse for protection. If the unit stops working, the fuse may need replacement. Refer to the "Troubleshooting" section for instructions.
  • Storage: Store the transformer in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ST-500 transformer, refer to the following table:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No power / Unit not turning on
  • Not plugged in securely.
  • Wall outlet has no power.
  • Input voltage selector set incorrectly.
  • Blown fuse.
  • Ensure power cord is fully inserted.
  • Test outlet with another device.
  • Verify input voltage selector matches local supply.
  • Replace fuse (see below).
Appliance not receiving power
  • Appliance not plugged in correctly.
  • Appliance power switch is off.
  • Appliance power consumption exceeds 500W.
  • Incorrect output socket used.
  • Ensure appliance is fully plugged into the correct output socket.
  • Turn on appliance power switch.
  • Check appliance wattage; do not use if it exceeds 500W.
  • Use the correct 110V or 220V output socket.
Unit overheating
  • Poor ventilation.
  • Overload (appliance wattage too high).
  • Ensure clear space around ventilation grilles.
  • Disconnect appliance; use an appliance within the 500W limit.

Fuse Replacement:

If the transformer does not power on and the fuse is suspected, follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect Power: Unplug the transformer from the wall outlet and disconnect any connected appliances.
  2. Locate Fuse Holder: The fuse holder is located on the rear panel of the unit (refer to Figure 3).
  3. Remove Old Fuse: Twist the fuse cap counter-clockwise to open the compartment. Carefully pull out the old fuse.
  4. Insert New Fuse: Insert a new fuse of the correct rating (e.g., 5A for 110V input, 2.5A for 220V input, or as specified on the unit) into the holder.
  5. Secure Fuse Holder: Push the fuse cap back in and twist clockwise to secure it.
  6. Test: Reconnect the transformer to the wall outlet and test its operation.
