3.2. Connecting Test Leads (SZ301 Multimeter)

For most measurements, connect the test leads as follows:

  • Insert the black test lead into the COM (common) jack.
  • Insert the red test lead into the VΩmA+ jack for voltage, resistance, and small current measurements.
  • For high current (up to 10A), insert the red test lead into the 10A MAX jack.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. ANENG SZ301 Digital Multimeter

Rotate the central dial to select the desired measurement function.

4.1.1. Measuring Voltage (AC/DC)

  1. Set the rotary switch to the desired AC (V~) or DC (V-) voltage range.
  2. Connect the test leads in parallel to the circuit or component you wish to measure.
  3. Read the voltage value on the LCD display.

4.1.2. Measuring Current (AC/DC)

  1. Safety Warning: Always connect the multimeter in series with the circuit. Never connect it in parallel to a voltage source when measuring current.
  2. Set the rotary switch to the desired AC (A~) or DC (A-) current range.
  3. Break the circuit and connect the multimeter in series.
  4. Read the current value on the LCD display.

4.1.3. Measuring Resistance

  1. Ensure the circuit is de-energized before measuring resistance.
  2. Set the rotary switch to the Ω (Ohm) range.
  3. Connect the test leads across the component.
  4. Read the resistance value on the LCD display.

4.1.4. Continuity Test

  1. Set the rotary switch to the continuity symbol (speaker icon).
  2. Connect the test leads across the circuit or wire.
  3. A continuous beep indicates a good connection (low resistance). No beep or a high resistance reading indicates an open circuit.

4.1.5. Diode Test

  1. Set the rotary switch to the diode symbol.
  2. Connect the red lead to the anode and the black lead to the cathode of the diode. A forward voltage drop will be displayed.
  3. Reverse the leads. An open circuit (OL) reading indicates a good diode.
