1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the SwitchBot Air Purifier. This device is designed to improve your indoor air quality by effectively removing airborne particles, odors, and allergens. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your air purifier. Please read it thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

2. Important Safety Information

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, please observe the following safety precautions:

  • Always unplug the air purifier before moving it, cleaning it, or performing any maintenance.
  • Do not operate the appliance if the cord or plug is damaged. Contact customer support for assistance.
  • Keep the air purifier away from water or other liquids. Do not use it in wet environments like bathrooms.
  • Do not insert fingers or objects into the air inlets or outlets.
  • Ensure the air purifier is placed on a stable, level surface.
  • Keep the air purifier at least 20 cm (8 inches) away from walls and furniture to ensure proper airflow.
  • This appliance is for indoor use only.
  • Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
  • Use only official SwitchBot replacement filters.

4. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the components of your SwitchBot Air Purifier.

Control Panel Features:

  • Power Button: Turns the unit on or off.
  • Fan Speed Button: Adjusts fan speed (Low, Medium, High).
  • Mode Button: Cycles through Auto, Sleep, and Pet modes.
  • Timer Button: Sets operation timer (2, 4, 6 hours).
  • Light Button: Controls the RGB ambient light (on/off, color selection).
  • Child Lock Button: Activates/deactivates child lock.
  • Air Quality Indicator: Changes color based on real-time air quality (Blue: Very Good, Green: Good, Orange: Moderate, Red: Bad).

5. Setup

5.1 Filter Installation (First Use)

The HEPA filter comes pre-installed but may be wrapped in protective packaging. Please remove all packaging before first use.

  1. Place the air purifier upside down on a soft, stable surface.
  2. Twist the base cover counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it.
  3. Carefully remove the filter from the unit.
  4. Remove all plastic packaging from the filter.
  5. Insert the unwrapped filter back into the air purifier, ensuring it is seated correctly.
  6. Replace the base cover and twist clockwise to lock it securely.

5.2 Power Connection

  1. Place the air purifier upright on a firm, level surface.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the power port on the back of the air purifier.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
  4. The unit will emit a beep, and the indicator lights will briefly illuminate, indicating it is ready for use.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press the Power Button once to turn the air purifier on or off.
  • Adjust Fan Speed: Press the Fan Speed Button repeatedly to cycle through Low, Medium, and High fan speeds.
  • Select Mode: Press the Mode Button to switch between:
    • Auto Mode: The fan speed adjusts automatically based on real-time air quality detected by the built-in sensor.
    • Sleep Mode: Operates at the lowest fan speed (20dB) with lights dimmed or off for quiet operation during rest.
    • Pet Mode: Optimized for pet households, increasing airflow when odors are detected and efficiently capturing pet hair.
  • Set Timer: Press the Timer Button to set the purifier to turn off automatically after 2, 4, or 6 hours.
  • Child Lock: Press and hold the Child Lock Button for 3 seconds to activate or deactivate. When active, the control panel buttons will not respond to presses.

6.2 Smart Features & App Control

The SwitchBot Air Purifier offers full smart home compatibility, including Matter support.

  1. Download the SwitchBot App: Search for "SwitchBot" in your smartphone's app store (iOS/Android) and install it.
  2. Add Device: Follow the in-app instructions to add your Air Purifier. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz is not supported).
  3. App Functions: Through the app, you can:
    • Power on/off and adjust fan speed.
    • Select operating modes (Auto, Sleep, Pet).
    • Monitor real-time air quality and view historical data.
    • Set schedules and timers.
    • Control RGB lighting (color, brightness, light-sensing auto-off).
    • Receive filter replacement reminders.
  4. Smart Home Integration (Matter, Alexa, HomeKit, Google Home): Once connected to the SwitchBot app, you can integrate your air purifier with your preferred smart home ecosystem for voice control and automation. Refer to your smart home platform's instructions for adding Matter-compatible devices.

6.3 RGB Ambient Light

The air purifier features an RGB ambient light with 10 color options and adjustable brightness.

  • Press the Light Button on the control panel to cycle through colors or turn the light off.
  • Use the SwitchBot app for more precise control over color selection, brightness, and to enable the light-sensing auto-off feature, which automatically turns off lights at night.

6.4 Aromatherapy Function

You can add essential oils to the diffuser pad to create a pleasant fragrance in your room.

  1. Locate the aromatherapy pad slot, usually on the side or back of the unit.
  2. Pull out the tray containing the diffuser pad.
  3. Add a few drops of your preferred essential oil onto the pad.
  4. Slide the tray back into the slot.
  5. The fragrance will be diffused with the purified air.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Washable Pre-filter

The pre-filter captures larger particles like pet hair and dust. Regular cleaning extends the life of the main filter.

  1. Unplug the air purifier from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the base cover and take out the filter assembly as described in Section 5.1.
  3. Carefully detach the pre-filter layer from the main HEPA filter.
  4. Rinse the pre-filter under running water until clean. You can also use a soft brush to remove stubborn debris.
  5. Allow the pre-filter to air dry completely before reattaching it to the main filter.
  6. Reinsert the filter assembly and secure the base cover.

7.2 HEPA Filter Replacement

The HEPA filter has a limited lifespan. The SwitchBot app will notify you when it's time for replacement.

  1. Unplug the air purifier.
  2. Remove the base cover and the old filter assembly.
  3. Dispose of the old filter responsibly.
  4. Unpack a new official SwitchBot replacement filter.
  5. Insert the new filter into the unit and secure the base cover.
  6. After replacement, reset the filter life indicator in the SwitchBot app.

Replacement filters can be purchased from the official SwitchBot store or authorized retailers.

8. Troubleshooting
