3. Setup and Installation
The Bauknecht Heko 600 Pyro Black is a built-in appliance. Professional installation by a qualified technician is highly recommended to ensure proper functioning and safety. Incorrect installation can void the warranty and pose safety risks.

3.3 Electrical Connection

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Oven Operation (HIS5 EP8VS3 ES)
The oven is controlled via an electronic display and rotary knobs. The display shows current settings and cooking progress.

4.1.1 Selecting a Cooking Function
- Turn the function selector knob to choose your desired cooking mode (e.g., Hot Air, Top/Bottom Heat, Grill, Convection, Pizza Function, Slow Cooking).
- Turn the temperature selector knob to set the desired temperature. The electronic display will show the selected settings.
- Press the start button (if available) or wait for the oven to begin heating.
4.1.2 Using Special Functions
- Pizza Function: Ideal for achieving a crispy base. Select this mode and set the recommended temperature for pizza.
- Slow Cooking: For tender results, select the slow cooking function and set a lower temperature for longer cooking times.
4.2 Hob Operation (CHR 6642 IN)
The glass-ceramic hob features a touch control panel for easy and precise adjustment of cooking zones.

4.2.1 Activating a Cooking Zone
- Place a suitable pot or pan on the desired cooking zone.
- Touch the power button to turn on the hob.
- Select the desired cooking zone by touching its corresponding control.
- Adjust the heat level using the '+' and '-' touch controls.
4.2.2 Using the Dual Circuit Cooking Zone
The hob includes a dual circuit cooking zone, suitable for larger pots or roasting dishes.

- To activate the extended area, select the dual circuit zone and then touch the specific expansion control.
4.2.3 Child Lock
- To activate the Child Lock, touch and hold the lock symbol until an indicator light appears. This prevents accidental changes to settings or activation.
- To deactivate, touch and hold the lock symbol again.
4.2.4 Residual Heat Indicator
After a cooking zone is turned off, an 'H' (or similar symbol) will appear on the display to indicate that the zone is still hot. Do not touch the surface until the indicator disappears.
5. Maintenance and Cleaning
5.1 Oven Cleaning (Pyrolysis)
The oven features a Pyrolysis self-cleaning function:
- Remove all oven accessories (racks, trays, side rails) before starting pyrolysis.
- Wipe away any large food spills or residues.
- Close the oven door.
- Select the Pyrolysis function from the oven menu. Follow the on-screen prompts to start the cycle.
- During the cycle, the oven will reach very high temperatures, burning food residues to ash. Ensure good ventilation in the kitchen.
- Once the cycle is complete and the oven has cooled down, wipe away the ash with a damp cloth.
5.2 Hob Cleaning
The glass-ceramic hob should be cleaned regularly to maintain its appearance and performance.
- Ensure the hob is cool before cleaning. The residual heat indicator should be off.
- Use a soft cloth or sponge with a specialized glass-ceramic hob cleaner.
- For stubborn stains, use a hob scraper designed for glass-ceramic surfaces.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch or damage the glass surface.
- Wipe dry with a clean cloth to prevent water marks.
