2. Safety Information

  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the lock yourself. This may void the warranty and cause damage.
  • Use only the specified 4 AA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
  • Keep backup mechanical keys in a secure location outside your home.
  • Ensure all screws are tightened securely during installation to prevent loosening and potential malfunction.
  • Protect the keypad from excessive moisture or direct water exposure, despite its IP54 rating.

5. Installation Guide

5.1 Door Compatibility Check

Before installation, ensure your door meets the following specifications:

  • Door Hole: 2-1/8" (54mm)
  • Backset: 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm)
  • Latch Hole: 1" (25mm)
  • Door Thickness: 1-3/8" to 2" (35-55mm)

The lock is compatible with both left and right-handed doors. It will automatically recognize the opening direction after battery installation.

5.2 Installation Steps

A screwdriver is typically the only tool required for installation.

  1. Remove Existing Lock: Carefully remove your current deadbolt and door handle.
  2. Install Latch: Insert the new adjustable latch into the door edge. Ensure the latch is in the unlocked position before proceeding.
  3. Install Exterior Unit: Place the exterior keypad unit onto the door, aligning the spindle with the latch mechanism.
  4. Install Interior Unit: Connect the interior unit to the exterior unit, ensuring the cable is properly routed and not pinched. Secure with screws.
  5. Install Batteries: Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries into the interior unit's battery compartment. The lock will perform an automatic door handing detection.
  6. Test Functionality: After installation, test the lock and unlock functions using the default code (refer to manual for default) and mechanical key.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Multiple Ways to Lock/Unlock

6.1.1 Fingerprint Unlock

Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock if the fingerprint is recognized.

6.1.2 Keypad Code Unlock

Enter your programmed user code on the keypad, then press the lock button. The lock will unlock.

6.1.3 Mechanical Key Unlock

In case of emergency or battery failure, use one of the provided mechanical keys to unlock the deadbolt.

6.2 Programming Codes and Fingerprints

Refer to the detailed instructions in the included user manual for specific steps on how to change the programming code, add new user codes, and register fingerprints. This typically involves pressing a 'Set' or '+' button on the interior unit and following voice prompts or visual cues on the keypad.

6.3 Auto-Lock Feature

The auto-lock feature can be set to automatically lock the door after a specified period (5-99 seconds) once it's closed. To activate or adjust this feature, consult your user manual's programming section.

6.4 Anti-Peeping Code

To enhance security, you can enter random digits before or after your actual user code. For example, if your code is 12345, you could enter 23712345961. The lock will still recognize the correct sequence within the longer string of numbers.

6.5 Silent Mode

Activate silent mode to disable audible feedback from key presses, useful for quiet environments or late-night entry/exit.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Battery Replacement

The lock is powered by 4 AA alkaline batteries. When the low battery indicator appears, replace all four batteries promptly. Expected battery life is over 1 year under normal usage.

7.2 Emergency Power

If the batteries completely drain, you can temporarily power the lock using a Type-C USB cable connected to a power bank. This allows you to enter your code or fingerprint to unlock the door and then replace the batteries.

7.3 Cleaning

Wipe the lock's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
