Maintenance

Defrosting

This appliance features a manual defrost system. The freezer compartment will accumulate frost over time. To maintain optimal performance, defrost the freezer when the frost layer becomes about 1/4 inch thick.

  1. Unplug the refrigerator from the power outlet.
  2. Remove all food items from both compartments and store them in a cooler to prevent spoilage.
  3. Leave the doors open to allow frost to melt naturally. You can place towels at the bottom to absorb water. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to speed up defrosting, as this can damage the unit.
  4. Once all frost has melted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
  5. Plug the refrigerator back in and allow it to cool for a few hours before returning food items.

Cleaning

  • Regularly clean the interior and exterior surfaces with a mild detergent and warm water.
  • Wipe down door seals to ensure a tight closure.
  • Clean the condenser coils at the back of the unit periodically to ensure efficient cooling. Unplug the unit before cleaning coils.
