Setup Guide

Initial Setup

  1. Plug in the camera: Connect the provided power adapter to the camera and a power outlet.
  2. Download the Swann Security App: Search for "Swann Security" in your device's app store (available on iOS and Android).
  3. Scan the QR code and connect: Follow the in-app instructions to pair your camera by scanning the QR code located on the camera or its packaging.

Mounting Options

The Evo Indoor Camera offers adjustable mounting options. It can be placed on a flat surface like a table or shelf, or mounted to a wall using the included wall mount, screws, and plugs. Ensure the camera is positioned to capture the desired area effectively.

Operating Your Camera

Live View and Two-Way Talk

Access a live feed of your camera's view through the Swann Security App. The integrated two-way audio allows you to hear what's happening and speak through the camera, enabling communication with people or pets in the room.

Motion and Sound Detection

The camera is equipped with instant motion and sound detection capabilities. You will receive real-time alerts on your smartphone when activity is detected. Customize detection zones and sensitivity settings within the app to minimize unwanted notifications and focus on important events.

Storage Options

The Evo Indoor Camera supports two primary storage methods for recorded video:

  • Local Storage: Insert a MicroSD card (up to 128GB, not included) into the camera for local recording. This allows you to access and view footage directly from the Swann Security app without a subscription.
  • Cloud Storage: Subscribe to the Secure Plus Plan for cloud storage. A 90-day free trial is available to experience the full benefits of cloud recording and remote access.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To ensure optimal performance, periodically clean the camera lens and body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the camera's surface or lens.

Software Updates

Keep your Swann Security App and camera firmware updated to the latest versions. Updates often include performance improvements, new features, and security enhancements. Check the app regularly for update notifications.

Power Supply

Ensure the camera is connected to a stable power source. Avoid using unapproved power adapters or cables, as this may damage the device or affect its operation.

Troubleshooting

Camera Not Connecting to Wi-Fi

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz, as the camera may not support 5GHz networks.
  • Verify that your Wi-Fi password is entered correctly in the app.
  • Move the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router and the camera.

No Live View or Recording

  • Check the camera's power connection.
  • Ensure your internet connection is stable.
  • Verify that the camera is properly connected to the Swann Security App.
  • If using a MicroSD card, ensure it is inserted correctly and not full.

Poor Video Quality

  • Clean the camera lens.
  • Ensure adequate lighting in the monitored area, especially for night vision.
  • Check your internet speed; a slow connection can affect streaming quality.

Frequent False Alerts

  • Adjust the motion and sound detection sensitivity settings in the Swann Security App.
  • Define specific activity zones to exclude areas with frequent, irrelevant movement (e.g., pets, moving curtains).
