Setup

1. Initial Inspection

Upon unboxing, ensure all protective films are removed from the watch face and case back. The watch comes with a pre-installed battery. If the watch is not running, check for a plastic battery tab that may need to be removed from the crown.

2. Setting Analog Time

  1. Pull the crown (center knob on the right side) out to the first or second click position (depending on the model, usually the second click for time setting).
  2. Turn the crown to adjust the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
  3. Push the crown back into its normal position to start the watch.

3. Setting Digital Time and Date

The digital display is controlled by the push buttons on the sides of the watch case. Refer to the button labels (LIGHT, MODE, START, RESET) for navigation.

  1. Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through different digital modes (Time, Date, Alarm, Chronograph).
  2. When in the Time/Date setting mode (often indicated by flashing digits), use the START or RESET buttons to adjust the flashing values (hours, minutes, day, month, year).
  3. Press MODE again to confirm settings and exit the setting mode.

4. Strap Adjustment

The silicone strap features a tang buckle for secure fastening. Adjust the strap by inserting the pin into the appropriate hole for a comfortable fit on your wrist. Ensure it is snug but not too tight to allow for proper circulation.

Operating Your Watch

1. Reading the Display

  • Analog Display: The traditional hour, minute, and second hands indicate the current time.
  • Digital Display: Shows time (12/24-hour format), day of the week, date, and other functions depending on the selected mode.

2. Using the Chronograph

The chronograph function allows you to measure elapsed time.

  1. Press the MODE button until the chronograph display appears (usually indicated by 'CH' or 'STOPWATCH').
  2. Press the START button to begin timing.
  3. Press START again to pause the timing.
  4. Press RESET to clear the elapsed time and return to zero.

3. Using the Light Function

Press the LIGHT button (top left) to illuminate the digital display for a few seconds, allowing readability in low-light conditions.

4. Water Resistance Guidelines

Your Lacoste watch is water resistant up to 100 meters (10 ATM). This rating makes it suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and showering. However, it is not suitable for scuba diving or high-impact water sports. Avoid operating the crown or push buttons when the watch is wet or submerged, as this can compromise the water resistance seals.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning Your Watch

Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and perspiration. For the silicone strap, you can use a mild soap solution and rinse thoroughly with clean water, ensuring the watch case is not exposed to excessive moisture if the crown is not fully pushed in. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

2. Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a quartz movement and requires a 1 A battery. When the battery runs low, the digital display may dim or the watch may stop. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and functionality, especially for maintaining water resistance.
