  1. Locate your vehicle's antenna. Ensure it is a thin, standard style antenna.

4.2. Enlarging the Antenna Hole (If Needed)

If your vehicle has a thicker antenna, the pre-drilled hole may need to be enlarged. Use caution during this process to avoid damaging the antenna ball.

  1. Obtain a Philips-style screwdriver or any hard, tapered object.
  2. Gently insert the tip of the screwdriver or tapered object into the hole at the bottom of the antenna ball.
  3. Rotate the object in a circular motion while applying light pressure. Continue until the hole reaches the desired size to fit your antenna.
  4. Periodically check the fit on your antenna to avoid over-enlarging the hole.

4.3. Rear-View Mirror Hanger Installation

To use the antenna ball as a rear-view mirror hanger:

  1. Locate the small screw provided with the rear-view mirror hanger accessory.
  2. Carefully press the tiny screw into the top of the Jack antenna ball.
  3. Attach the hanger string or loop to the screw.
  4. Hang the antenna ball from your vehicle's rear-view mirror. Ensure it does not obstruct your view while driving.

4.4. Desktop Bobble Spring Stand Setup

To display your antenna ball on a desktop or flat surface:

  1. Insert the bottom stick of the antenna ball into the designated slot on the desktop bobble spring stand.
  2. Ensure the antenna ball is securely seated on the spring stand.
  3. Place the stand on a stable, flat surface.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed on your antenna, the Jack In The Box Antenna Ball serves as a decorative and functional accessory. Its primary operational benefit is to help you easily identify your car, truck, or SUV in a crowded parking lot due to its distinctive appearance.

6. Care & Maintenance

To maintain the appearance and longevity of your antenna ball:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the antenna ball with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the finish.
  • Exposure: While designed for outdoor use, prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions (e.g., intense sunlight, heavy rain, snow) may cause fading or wear over time.
  • Secure Fit: Periodically check that the antenna ball remains securely attached to your antenna, mirror hanger, or desktop stand.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Antenna Ball Does Not Fit Antenna

If the antenna ball's hole is too small for your antenna, refer to Section 4.2, "Enlarging the Antenna Hole," for instructions on how to adjust the size.

7.2. Antenna Ball Feels Loose

If the antenna ball feels loose after installation, ensure it is pushed down firmly onto the antenna. If the hole was enlarged, it might have been made too wide. In such cases, a small amount of adhesive (e.g., silicone sealant) can be applied inside the hole before installation to create a tighter fit, but this will make removal more difficult.
