3. Setup and Assembly

The LOLARAN GT1000 features a foldable and telescopic design for easy assembly and transport. Follow these steps to set up your metal detector:

1. Unfold the Detector: Gently unfold the main unit until the shaft is extended. Ensure all locking mechanisms click into place securely.
2. Attach the Handle: Connect the handle to the main shaft using the provided screws. Tighten them firmly to prevent wobbling during use.
3. Adjust Length: Press the yellow button on the shaft to extend or retract the telescopic rod. Adjust the length to a comfortable height, typically with the search coil parallel to the ground when standing upright. The adjustable range is 26 to 49 inches.
4. Secure the Search Coil: Ensure the search coil is securely attached and its angle can be adjusted for optimal ground coverage.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

To power on the device, press and hold the power button located on the control box. The LCD screen will illuminate. To power off, press and hold the power button again.

4.2 Sensitivity Adjustment

Sensitivity controls the detector's ability to find smaller or deeper metals. Higher sensitivity increases detection depth but may also increase noise in mineralized soil. Lower sensitivity reduces noise but may miss smaller targets. Adjust sensitivity using the '+' and '-' buttons in the SENS menu. The GT1000 offers 8 sensitivity levels.

4.3 Discrimination (NOTCH)

The Discrimination (DISC) or NOTCH feature allows you to ignore unwanted metal types (e.g., iron) and focus on valuable targets. Use the MENU button to navigate to DISC or NOTCH mode, then use '+' and '-' to select the metal categories to exclude. The adjustable range is 00-80. The larger the value set, the more metal categories are removed. To restore a metal category, reduce the value until it's back to 00.

4.4 Pinpoint Mode

Once a target is detected, press the PP (Pinpoint) button to narrow down the exact location of the buried object. This mode helps in precise recovery, minimizing digging.

4.5 Volume Adjustment

Adjust the volume of the audio alerts using the volume controls on the device. There are four volume levels, with level 4 being the loudest. Use headphones for clearer audio in noisy environments.

• Sweep the search coil from side-to-side, keeping it parallel to the ground and just a few inches above the surface.
• The GT1000 is a motion detector; you must sweep the search coil to detect metal. A motionless search coil over a metal object will not result in detection.
• For accurate detection, use outdoors. Indoor reinforced concrete can interfere with signals.
• The 10-inch search coil is waterproof, allowing for detection in shallow water. However, the LCD control box is not waterproof and must be kept dry.

• Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the detector with a damp cloth. Ensure the search coil is clean of dirt and debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
