Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The Xtreme Locator Tag uses a replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery, which typically lasts up to 12 months. When the battery level is low, you will receive a notification in the Find My app.
To replace the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the Xtreme Locator Tag.
- Carefully open the compartment cover. You may need a small tool (e.g., a coin or flathead screwdriver) to gently pry it open.
- Remove the old CR2032 battery.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Important: Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children.
Troubleshooting
- Tag does not pair with iOS device:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your iOS device.
- Make sure the Find My app is updated to the latest version.
- Check the battery level of the Locator Tag. Replace the CR2032 battery if it is low or depleted.
- Try restarting your iOS device.
- Ensure you are pressing and holding the tag's button for the correct duration (3 seconds) until a beep is heard during the pairing process.
- Cannot hear the 100dB alert ring:
- Verify that the tag is within Bluetooth range of your iOS device or within the Find My network.
- Check the battery level of the Locator Tag. A low battery might affect the sound output.
- If the tag is connected but not playing sound, try disconnecting and re-pairing the tag.
- Ensure your iOS device's volume is not muted or too low.
- Location updates are inaccurate or infrequent:
- The accuracy of location tracking depends on the density of the Apple Find My network in the area. In areas with fewer Apple devices, updates may be less frequent.
- Ensure your iOS device has a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data) for the Find My app to receive location updates.
- If the tag is out of range of your device, its location will only update when it comes into contact with another device in the Find My network.
