2. Safety Information

4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Mounting Location
Choose a suitable location for mounting the sensor. It can be mounted on a wall or ceiling. For optimal performance, consider the following:
- Mount the sensor at a height of 1.8m to 2.5m for best detection.
- Avoid mounting near heat sources (e.g., air conditioning vents, heating outlets) or objects that may cause rapid temperature changes, as this can lead to false triggers.
- Do not point the sensor directly at reflective surfaces or moving objects (e.g., trees, bushes) that could cause false detections.
- Ensure the detection area is clear of obstructions.

4.2 Wiring
WARNING: Disconnect power at the circuit breaker before wiring.
- Open the sensor casing carefully.
- Connect the live wire (L) from the power supply to the sensor's live input terminal.
- Connect the neutral wire (N) from the power supply to the sensor's neutral input terminal.
- Connect the live wire (L') for the load (e.g., light fixture) to the sensor's load output terminal.
- Connect the neutral wire for the load to the neutral wire from the power supply.
- Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
- Close the sensor casing, ensuring a watertight seal for IP44 protection.
4.3 Adjusting the Sensor Head
The sensor head can be adjusted horizontally and vertically to optimize the detection area. Loosen the adjustment screw, position the sensor head as desired, and then tighten the screw to secure it.

5. Operating and Settings
The Maclean MCE358 GR features two adjustable knobs for customizing its operation: LUX and TIME.

5.1 LUX (Ambient Light Sensitivity)
The LUX knob controls the ambient light level at which the sensor will activate the connected load.
- Turn the knob towards the sun symbol (
) for activation during both day and night (high LUX value). - Turn the knob towards the moon symbol () for activation only in low light conditions or darkness (low LUX value).
5.2 TIME (Time Delay)
The TIME knob sets the duration for which the connected load remains active after motion is detected and the sensor stops detecting movement.
- Rotate the knob to adjust the time delay, typically ranging from a few seconds to several minutes.
- A shorter time setting conserves energy, while a longer setting provides extended illumination.
6. Maintenance
- Regularly clean the sensor lens with a soft, damp cloth to ensure optimal detection performance. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Periodically check the mounting and wiring connections for any signs of wear or damage.
- Ensure the sensor is free from obstructions like spiderwebs, leaves, or snow, which can interfere with detection.
