2. Setup and Installation

2.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the timer.
  2. Open the compartment and insert two (2) AA 1.5V Alkaline batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment securely, ensuring the seal ring is properly seated to maintain IP55 waterproof rating.

2.2. Connecting to Faucet and Hose

  1. Ensure the faucet is turned off.
  2. Apply the provided thread seal tape to the faucet threads for a leak-proof connection.
  3. Screw the timer's brass inlet onto your outdoor faucet. The brass thread offers superior leak protection and durability compared to plastic.
  4. Connect your garden hose or irrigation system to the timer's outlet.
  5. If needed, use the additional reducing hex bushing (3/4" Male NPT to 1/2" Female NPT) or 3/4 inch GHT male thread to fit different size hoses or faucets.

3. Operating Instructions

The Insoma Water Timer features an intuitive dial and button interface for easy programming.

3.1. Setting the Clock

  1. Rotate the dial to 'Set Clock'.
  2. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the current time.
  3. Press 'OK' to confirm and move to the next setting.

3.2. Programming Automatic Watering (Auto Mode)

The timer offers flexible scheduling with two cycle modes for frequency and adjustable duration.

  1. Set Start Time: Rotate the dial to 'Start Time'. Use '+' and '-' to set the desired start time for watering. Press 'OK'.
  2. Set How Long: Rotate the dial to 'How Long'. Adjust the watering duration from 1 minute to 23 hours 59 minutes. Press 'OK'.
  3. Set How Often: Rotate the dial to 'How Often'. Choose the watering frequency: from every 1 minute to every 23 hours 59 minutes, or from 1 to 7 days. Press 'OK'.
  4. Activate Auto Mode: Rotate the dial to 'AUTO'. The timer will now operate according to your set schedule.

3.3. Manual Watering

Use Manual mode for immediate watering without interrupting your programmed schedule.

  1. Rotate the dial to 'AUTO' or 'OFF'.
  2. Press the 'faucet' button (manual watering button).
  3. Use '+' and '-' to set the desired manual watering duration (1 minute to 23 hours 59 minutes).
  4. Press 'OK' to start manual watering. The timer will automatically revert to its scheduled program after the manual watering is complete.

3.4. Rain Delay Function

Pause your watering schedule for 1 to 7 days to conserve water during rainy periods.

  1. Rotate the dial to 'AUTO'.
  2. Press the 'Rain Delay' button (usually the '+' button when in AUTO mode, or a dedicated button if available).
  3. Use '+' and '-' to select the number of delay days (1-7 days).
  4. Press 'OK' to activate the rain delay. The schedule will automatically resume after the selected delay period.
