4. Initial Seasoning

Before first use, the griddle surface must be seasoned to create a non-stick cooking surface and protect against rust. Apply a thin, even layer of high-heat cooking oil (such as flaxseed, grapeseed, or Blackstone seasoning blend) to the entire griddle surface. Heat the griddle on high until the oil smokes and turns dark brown. Repeat this process 3-5 times, allowing the griddle to cool slightly between layers. This creates a durable, non-stick finish.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Connecting Propane

Ensure the griddle control knobs are in the 'OFF' position. Connect the gas regulator hose to the griddle's gas inlet and then to your propane tank. Tighten all connections securely. This griddle is compatible with standard 1 lb propane cylinders or can be adapted for larger tanks with an appropriate adapter (sold separately).

5.2. Lighting the Burners

  1. Open the propane tank valve slowly.
  2. Push and turn the desired control knob counter-clockwise to the 'LIGHT' position.
  3. The integrated igniter will spark and light the burner. If ignition does not occur within 5 seconds, turn the burner off, wait 5 minutes, and repeat the lighting procedure.
  4. Adjust the control knob to your desired temperature setting (Low, Medium, High).

5.3. Cooking

The griddle features two independent burners, allowing for dual heat zones. This enables cooking different foods at varying temperatures simultaneously. The 361 square inches of cooking surface provides ample space for various meals.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

6.1. After Each Use

Allow the griddle to cool slightly. Scrape any food debris into the rear grease management system. Wipe the griddle surface clean with a paper towel. For stubborn residue, use a griddle scraper and a small amount of water while the griddle is still warm. Reapply a thin layer of cooking oil to maintain the seasoning.
