4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the monitor.
  2. Insert four (4) AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Cuff Placement

  1. Ensure your arm is bare or has thin clothing.
  2. Sit in a comfortable position with your feet flat on the floor and your arm resting on a table.
  3. Place the cuff on your upper left arm, approximately 1-2 cm (0.4-0.8 inches) above your elbow joint. The air tube should run down the inside of your arm.
  4. Wrap the cuff snugly around your arm, ensuring it is not too tight or too loose. The bottom edge of the cuff should be above the elbow.
  5. The cuff should be at the same level as your heart.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Taking a Measurement

  1. Ensure the cuff is correctly placed on your arm and you are in a relaxed, seated position.
  2. Press the 'START/STOP' button to turn on the monitor. The cuff will automatically begin to inflate.
  3. Remain still and silent during the measurement.
  4. Once the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed on the screen.
  5. Press the 'START/STOP' button again to turn off the monitor, or it will automatically shut off after a period of inactivity.

5.2 Understanding Readings

Blood pressure is typically expressed as two numbers: systolic (the top number) and diastolic (the bottom number). Pulse rate indicates your heartbeats per minute.
