The PGST Wireless Home Alarm System PG109F-US-A is an 8-piece kit designed to provide comprehensive security for your home or apartment. This system features WiFi and 4G connectivity, allowing for remote monitoring and control via a smartphone application. It includes an alarm host, door sensors, a motion detector, remote controls, RFID cards, and an alarm siren.

2. Setup and Installation

2.1 System Components Overview

The PGST alarm system consists of several key components working together to secure your property:

  • Alarm Host: The central control unit with a keypad and display.
  • Door Sensors: Two-part sensors that detect when a door or window is opened.
  • Motion Detector: Detects movement within its field of view.
  • Remote Controls: Key fobs for convenient arming, disarming, and SOS functions.
  • RFID Cards: For quick arming/disarming by tapping the alarm host.
  • Alarm Siren: Emits a loud sound (120dB) when an alarm is triggered.

2.2 Initial Setup

  1. Powering the Alarm Host: Connect the alarm host to a power outlet using the provided charger. The internal Lithium Ion battery will provide backup power in case of an outage.
  2. Mounting the Alarm Host: Choose a central location within your home for the alarm host, preferably near an entrance. Use the screw kit to securely mount it to a wall.
  3. Connecting to Wi-Fi: Follow the on-screen instructions on the alarm host to connect it to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Note that 5G networks are not supported.
  4. App Installation: Download the "Smart Life" application from your smartphone's app store. Register an account and add your PGST alarm system to the app by following the in-app instructions.

2.3 Sensor Installation

Proper placement of sensors is crucial for effective security.

  • Door Sensors: Install the two parts of the door sensor on the door/window frame and the door/window itself, ensuring they are aligned and within 1 cm of each other when closed. Use the adhesive backing or screws for secure attachment.
  • Motion Detector: Mount the motion detector in a corner or on a wall where it can cover the main entry points or high-traffic areas. Ensure it is positioned to avoid direct sunlight or heat sources, which can cause false alarms. Use the provided bracket and screws.
  • Alarm Siren: Place the siren in a discreet but audible location, either indoors or in a protected outdoor area.

3. Operation

3.1 Arming and Disarming the System

Your PGST alarm system offers multiple methods for arming and disarming:

  • Via Alarm Host Keypad: Enter your security code on the alarm host's keypad and select the desired arming mode (Arm, Home Arm, Disarm).
  • Via Remote Control: Use the dedicated buttons on the remote fob for quick arming, disarming, home arming, or to activate the SOS function.
  • Via RFID Card: Tap an authorized RFID card on the designated area of the alarm host to arm or disarm the system without entering a code.
  • Via Smart Life App: Open the Smart Life app on your smartphone to remotely arm, disarm, or check the status of your system from anywhere.
  • Via Voice Control (Alexa): Integrate your alarm system with Amazon Alexa to use voice commands for arming and disarming.

3.2 Real-time Alerts

When a sensor is triggered while the system is armed, the 120dB alarm siren will activate, and you will receive immediate notifications through the Smart Life app on your phone.

3.3 Expanding the System

The PGST Wireless Home Alarm System is expandable. It supports up to 99 additional sensors and 5 remote controls. You can easily add more motion sensors, door sensors, or other compatible accessories to enhance your home's security coverage.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

  • Alarm Host: The alarm host contains a built-in Lithium Ion battery for backup power. If the battery life diminishes, contact customer support for service or replacement instructions.
  • Sensors: Wireless sensors (door sensors, motion detectors) are typically powered by replaceable batteries. Refer to the individual sensor's specific instructions for battery type and replacement procedures. Low battery alerts will usually be indicated on the alarm host or via the app.

4.2 Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the alarm host and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the devices.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your PGST Wireless Home Alarm System, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
