3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation and Charging
The BAOFENG K6 comes with a 2600mAh Lithium Ion battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.
- To install the battery, align the battery pack with the grooves on the back of the radio and slide it upwards until it clicks into place.
- To charge, you have two options:
- Desktop Charger: Place the radio (with battery installed) into the provided desktop charging cradle. Ensure the charging contacts align. The indicator light on the charger will show charging status.
- Type-C Charging: Connect a standard Type-C USB cable (not included) directly to the Type-C port on the battery pack. This allows for convenient charging without the desktop cradle.

3.2 Antenna Attachment
Screw the provided antenna clockwise into the antenna connector on top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

Rotate the power/volume knob clockwise to turn on the radio. The display will light up, and you may hear a power-on message or see a customizable boot-up text.
