5. Setup Guide

5.1. Charging the Device

Before initial use, fully charge the device's internal Li-ion battery (7.4V/4000mAh).

  1. Connect the provided power adapter to the device's charging port.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a standard AC 100-240V 50/60Hz wall outlet.
  3. The 'Charge' indicator light will illuminate during charging. Once fully charged, the light may change color or turn off depending on the model.
  4. For outdoor use, the car charging adapter can be used to charge the device from a vehicle's 12V power outlet.

5.2. Initial Connection for Satellite Finding

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. Connect the coaxial cable from your satellite dish's LNB to the 'LNB IN' port on the top of the SATLINK WS6906.
  3. If connecting to an external display, use the provided AV cable to connect the 'AV OUT' port on the device to the 'AV IN' ports on your television or monitor.

5.3. Powering On

Toggle the 'Power' switch to the ON position. The device's LCD screen will power on, and the 'Power' indicator light will illuminate.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Satellite Signal Finding

The primary function of the WS6906 is to assist in locating and optimizing satellite signals.

  1. From the main menu, navigate to the 'Satellite Search' or 'Add Satellite' option using the arrow keys and 'OK' button.
  2. Select the desired satellite from the pre-programmed list or manually enter satellite parameters (frequency, symbol rate, polarization, etc.).
  3. Adjust your satellite dish's azimuth and elevation while observing the signal strength and quality indicators on the WS6906 screen.
  4. A sound warning will activate when a strong signal is detected and locked, indicating successful alignment.
  5. Fine-tune the dish position to achieve the highest possible signal quality (BER and C/N values).

6.2. Menu Navigation

Use the keypad for navigating the device's functions:

  • MENU: Accesses the main menu.

  1. After scanning, use the Up/Down arrow keys to browse through the available channels.
  2. The selected channel will be displayed on the LCD screen.

6.4. AV Functions

  • AV OUT: Connect the device to a larger screen (TV, monitor) using the AV cable to display the satellite signal or channels on the external screen.
  • AV IN: Connect an external video source (e.g., DVD player, security camera) to the device's AV IN ports. Select the AV IN mode from the menu to view the external source on the WS6906 screen.

6.5. Parental Lock

7.1. Cleaning
