Setup
1. Charging the Eco-Drive
Your Citizen Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. It converts any light source (natural or artificial) into electrical energy, which is stored in a rechargeable power cell. To ensure optimal performance, expose the watch dial to light regularly.
- Initial Charge: For a new watch or one that has stopped, expose it to bright light for several hours (e.g., direct sunlight for 5-6 hours or fluorescent light for 20-30 hours) to achieve a full charge.
- Regular Charging: To maintain a full charge, expose the watch to light for at least 5-6 hours per week. Avoid prolonged storage in darkness.

2. Setting Time and Date
- Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) out to the first click position for date adjustment, or to the second click position for time adjustment.
- Set the Date: In the first click position, turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the correct date. Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 4:00 AM, as this can damage the movement.
- Set the Day: In the first click position, turn the crown in the opposite direction to set the correct day.
- Set the Time: In the second click position, turn the crown to set the correct time. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly set by observing the date change. If the date changes at noon, you are 12 hours off.
- Push in the crown: Once set, push the crown back into the normal position to start the watch.
Operating Your Watch
Basic Timekeeping
Your watch displays hours, minutes, and seconds. The red second hand provides continuous movement. The day and date are displayed in a window at the 3 o'clock position.
Day/Date Function
The day and date automatically advance at midnight. If the watch has been stopped for an extended period, you may need to manually adjust the day and date as described in the "Setting Time and Date" section.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the nylon strap, a damp cloth with mild soap can be used, then allow it to air dry completely. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Water Resistance
This watch is water resistant to 100 meters (10 BAR). This means it is suitable for swimming, showering, and snorkeling. Do not operate the crown while the watch is wet or submerged.
Strap Care
The khaki nylon strap is designed for durability. Periodically check the strap for wear and tear. If the strap becomes excessively worn or damaged, consider replacing it to prevent accidental loss of the watch.
