Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Unscrew the tail cap of the headlamp.
- Insert the Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 Li-ion battery with the positive (+) terminal facing towards the head of the lamp.
- Screw the tail cap back on securely.
2. Charging
The HM71R features a universal USB Type-C charging port.
- Locate the USB Type-C charging port on the headlamp.
- Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the headlamp and the other end to the USB wall plug or another compatible USB power source.
- The charging indicator light will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 4 hours.

3. Attaching to Headband
The headlamp can be easily attached to the reflective and breathable headband for hands-free use.
- Slide the headlamp into the silicone holder on the headband.
- Adjust the headband for a comfortable and secure fit.

1. Power On/Off
- To Turn On: Press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds.
- To Turn Off: Press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds.
2. Mode Switching (Spotlight / Floodlight)
- When the light is on, press and hold the switch for 1.2 seconds to switch between Spotlight mode and Floodlight mode.
3. Output Selection
- Spotlight Mode: Single click the switch to cycle through Low, Medium, High, and Turbo.
- Floodlight Mode: Single click the switch to cycle through Read, Low, Medium, and High.
4. Right-Angle Flashlight Use
The HM71R can be detached from the headband and used as a standalone right-angle flashlight.
- Gently pull the headlamp out of its silicone holder on the headband.
- The integrated clip allows it to be attached to pockets, belts, or packs.
5. Magnetic Base Functionality
The magnetic base provides additional hands-free lighting options.
- Attach the magnetic base of the headlamp to any ferrous metal surface for stable illumination.

1. Cleaning
- Clean the headlamp body with a soft cloth.
