JAZZCOOLING LF99-2

JAZZCOOLING ARGB PWM Fan Hub (Model LF99-2) Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

The JAZZCOOLING ARGB PWM Fan Hub (Model LF99-2) is designed to expand connectivity for Addressable RGB (ARGB) fans and PWM-controlled fans within a computer system. This hub allows for centralized control of up to nine fans, managing both their speed and lighting effects through a single interface. It is powered via a SATA connection, ensuring stable power delivery to all connected devices.

2. Product Features

  • 9-Port ARGB PWM Functionality: Each port supports PWM fan speed synchronization and 5V 3-pin ARGB lighting.
  • Broad Compatibility: Supports up to nine 12V 4-pin PWM fans and nine 5V 3-pin ARGB devices (fans or LED strips). Note: 3-pin fans connected to 4-pin PWM ports will operate at full speed without PWM control.
  • Magnetic Mounting: Features a magnetic back for convenient placement on any metal surface inside the PC case, eliminating the need for adhesive tape.
  • SATA Power Input: Directly powered by the system's power supply via a SATA connector, providing stable power and preventing voltage loss for smooth fan operation.
  • Compact Design: With dimensions of 5.75 x 1.96 x 0.53 inches, its small size helps maintain tidy internal PC case wiring.

3. Package Contents

  • 1 x JAZZCOOLING ARGB PWM Fan Hub (Model LF99-2)
  • 1 x PWM/ARGB Motherboard Connection Cable

5. Installation Guide (Setup)

Follow these steps to correctly install your JAZZCOOLING ARGB PWM Fan Hub:

  1. Prepare the Hub: Choose a suitable location inside your PC case, preferably on a metal surface, where the magnetic back can secure the hub. Ensure it is accessible for cable management.

  2. Connect Fans: Connect the 4-pin PWM fan cables from your fans to the 'FAN1' through 'FAN9' ports on the hub. If using 3-pin fans, they can be connected to these ports, but PWM speed control will not be available.
  3. Connect ARGB Devices: Connect the 3-pin ARGB cables from your fans or LED strips to the 'LED1' through 'LED9' ports on the hub. Important: Ensure the hub's main ARGB cable is connected to a 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard for lighting functionality.
  4. Connect to Motherboard: Use the provided PWM/ARGB motherboard connection cable. Connect the 4-pin end of this cable to a 12V 4-pin CPU_FAN or SYS_FAN header on your motherboard for PWM fan speed control. Connect the 3-pin ARGB end of this cable to a 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard for lighting synchronization.
  5. Power Connection: Connect a SATA power cable from your power supply unit (PSU) to the 'POWER SATA' input on the hub. This provides power to all connected fans and ARGB devices.

6. Operation

Once the hub is correctly installed and connected, you can control your fans and ARGB lighting:

  • Fan Speed Control: When connected to a 4-pin PWM header on your motherboard, fan speeds can be controlled via your motherboard's BIOS settings or compatible software (e.g., ASUS AI Suite, MSI Dragon Center, Gigabyte SIV).
  • ARGB Lighting Control: When connected to a 5V 3-pin ARGB header, lighting effects can be synchronized and controlled using your motherboard's ARGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0, ASRock Polychrome Sync).

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, refer to the following common solutions:

  • No ARGB Lighting:
    • Ensure the hub's 3-pin ARGB cable is securely connected to a 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard.
    • Verify that the SATA power cable is connected to the hub and your PSU.
    • Check your motherboard's ARGB software settings.
  • Fans Not Spinning or Not Speed Controlled:
    • Ensure the hub's 4-pin PWM cable is securely connected to a 12V 4-pin PWM header on your motherboard.
    • Verify the SATA power cable connection.
    • If using 3-pin fans, they will operate at full speed without PWM control.
    • Check your motherboard's BIOS or fan control software settings.
  • Hub Not Recognized:
    • Confirm all power and data connections are secure.
    • Restart your computer.
