2. Safety Information

Read all instructions carefully before beginning installation. Failure to follow these instructions could result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury.

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box before installation or servicing. All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical codes. If you are unfamiliar with wiring, consult a qualified electrician.
  • Mounting: The fan must be mounted to a structurally sound ceiling joist or outlet box capable of supporting the fan's weight (approximately 16.1 lbs). Use only outlet boxes marked 'Acceptable for Fan Support'.
  • Blade Clearance: Ensure there is adequate clearance from the fan blades to any walls or obstructions. The lowest point of the fan blades must be at least 7 feet (2.13 meters) from the floor.
  • Moving Parts: Avoid placing objects in the path of the fan blades. Do not operate the fan if blades are damaged or bent.
  • Light Kit: Do not attempt to replace LED bulbs. The LED light kit is designed for long-lasting performance. If the light fails, contact customer support.
  • Cleaning: Always disconnect power before cleaning the fan. Use a soft, damp cloth; never use abrasive cleaners.

4.1. Pre-Installation

  1. Turn off Power: Ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker.
  2. Prepare Mounting Location: This low-profile fan is ideal for rooms with ceilings 8 feet or less. Install the mounting bracket to a secure ceiling joist or an approved fan support outlet box.

4.2. Fan Assembly

5. Operating Instructions

Your Hunter ceiling fan is designed for simple operation using the integrated pull chains.

5.1. Fan Speed Control

The fan features a 3-speed WhisperWind reversible motor. One pull chain controls the fan speed:

  • First Pull: High Speed
  • Second Pull: Medium Speed
  • Third Pull: Low Speed
  • Fourth Pull: Off

5.2. Light Control

The second pull chain controls the integrated LED light kit:

  • First Pull: Light On
  • Second Pull: Light Off

5.3. Reversible Rotation

The fan motor is reversible, allowing for both downdraft (cooling) and updraft (air circulation) modes. A switch on the motor housing controls the direction of rotation. For cooling, set the switch to downdraft (blades rotate counter-clockwise). For circulating warm air in winter, set the switch to updraft (blades rotate clockwise). Always turn off the fan and wait for the blades to stop completely before changing the direction switch.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.

6.1. Cleaning

  • Frequency: Clean your fan periodically to prevent dust buildup.
  • Procedure: Always turn off the power at the circuit breaker before cleaning. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the fan blades, motor housing, and light kit. A slightly damp cloth can be used for stubborn dirt, but ensure no moisture enters the motor or electrical components.
  • Avoid: Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish or electrical components.

6.2. Blade Inspection

  • Periodically check the blade screws to ensure they are tight. Loose screws can cause wobbling and noise.
  • Inspect blades for any cracks or damage. Damaged blades should be replaced to maintain balance and safety.

6.3. Electrical Connections

  • Annually, with the power off, check all electrical connections for tightness.

7. Troubleshooting

Before attempting any repairs, ensure the power is turned off at the circuit breaker.
