Operating Instructions
Locating an Item Nearby (Bluetooth & UWB)
To find an item that is within Bluetooth range:
- Open the Google Find My Device app.
- Select the Moto tag associated with the item you are looking for.
- Tap the "Play sound" option. The Moto tag will emit an audible sound to help you locate it.
- For UWB-enabled phones, the app may provide precise, step-by-step guidance to the tag's location.
Locating an Item Remotely (Find My Device Network)
If your item is out of Bluetooth range, the Google Find My Device network can help locate it:
- The Moto tag will anonymously communicate its location to the Find My Device network when it comes within range of any Android device on the network.
- Open the Google Find My Device app or visit google.com/android/find on a web browser.
- The app/website will display the last known location of your Moto tag on a map.
Unwanted Tracking Protection
The Moto tag is designed with privacy in mind. If an unknown Moto tag is detected traveling with you over time, your Android device will notify you, allowing you to locate the tag and disable it if necessary. All tracking data is protected by end-to-end encryption.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The Moto tag uses a standard CR2032 coin cell battery, which typically lasts up to one year. When the battery is low, the Google Find My Device app will notify you.
- Locate the battery compartment on the Moto tag. It is usually a small cover that can be twisted or pried open.
- Using a small tool (like a coin or a flat-head screwdriver), gently open the battery compartment.
- Remove the old CR2032 battery.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Securely close the battery compartment cover.
Note: Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
Cleaning
Wipe the Moto tag with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. The device is IP67 rated for water and dust resistance, meaning it can withstand immersion in up to 1 meter of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.
