5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the dehumidifier and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage. Keep the packaging materials for future storage or transport.

5.2 Placement

Place the dehumidifier on a firm, level surface in the area where dehumidification is desired. Ensure there is at least 20 cm (8 inches) of space around all sides of the unit for proper air circulation. The integrated floor casters allow for easy movement.

5.3 Power Connection

Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet's voltage matches the unit's requirements (220-240V, 50Hz).

5.4 Water Drainage

The MEDION DH30S offers two drainage options:

5.4.1 Water Tank Drainage

The dehumidifier will collect moisture in its internal 5-liter water tank. When the tank is full, the unit will automatically shut off and an indicator light will illuminate. Empty the tank as described in the Maintenance section.

5.4.2 Continuous Drainage

For continuous operation without needing to empty the tank, attach the included drain hose to the continuous drainage port on the back of the unit. Route the hose to a suitable drain (e.g., floor drain, large bucket) ensuring it is sloped downwards to allow gravity drainage.
