Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your Denash Driving DVR in your vehicle.

1. Prepare the Micro SD Card:

  • Insert a high-speed Micro SD card (Class 10 or higher, up to 32GB recommended, not included) into the DVR's card slot.
  • Format the Micro SD card within the DVR's settings menu before first use to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.

2. Install the Front Camera:

  1. Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the DVR. Ensure it is free from dust and grease.
  2. Attach the suction cup mount to the DVR.
  3. Press the suction cup firmly against the windshield, ideally behind the rearview mirror, to ensure it does not obstruct your view. Secure the lock lever on the suction cup.
  4. Adjust the angle of the front camera to ensure it captures the road ahead clearly.

3. Install the Rear Camera:

  1. Determine the desired mounting location for the rear camera. It can be installed on the rear windshield (inside) or near the license plate (outside, if applicable for your vehicle and wiring).
  2. Connect the rear camera cable to the main DVR unit.
  3. Route the rear camera cable neatly along the vehicle's interior trim to avoid interference with driving.
  4. Secure the rear camera in place using the provided adhesive or screws.
  5. If connecting for reverse assist, ensure the red wire of the rear camera cable is connected to the positive lead of your vehicle's reverse light.

4. Power Connection:

  1. Plug the vehicle power adapter into your car's cigarette lighter socket.
  2. Connect the other end of the power adapter cable to the DVR's power input port.
  3. The DVR will automatically power on and begin recording when the vehicle's ignition is turned on, and power off when the ignition is turned off.

Operating Instructions

Basic Operation:

  • Power On/Off: The device automatically powers on/off with the vehicle's ignition. You can also manually power on/off by pressing and holding the OK/Power button.
  • Recording: Once powered on, the DVR will automatically start loop recording. A red indicator light or icon on the screen typically indicates recording is active.
  • Mode Switching: Press the "Mode" button to switch between Video Recording, Photo Mode, and Playback Mode.
  • Menu Navigation: Use the "Up" and "Down" buttons to navigate through menu options. Press the "OK" button to confirm selections. Press "Menu" to enter/exit the settings menu.

Key Functions:

  • Loop Recording: Videos are saved in segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are automatically overwritten.
  • G-Sensor (Emergency Lock): In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the G-Sensor will automatically detect the event and lock the current video file, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. These files are typically stored in a separate "Event" or "Locked" folder on the SD card.
  • Parking Monitoring: When enabled, the DVR will automatically start recording if it detects a collision or vibration while the vehicle is parked. This feature requires a continuous power supply (e.g., hardwire kit, not included).
  • Motion Detection: When enabled, the DVR will start recording when it detects movement in its field of view. This is primarily for parking surveillance. It is recommended to disable this feature during normal driving to prevent continuous recording of non-event footage.
  • Playback: In Playback Mode, use the "Up" and "Down" buttons to browse recorded videos and photos. Press "OK" to play a selected video.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and screen. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • SD Card Maintenance: It is recommended to format the Micro SD card every 2-4 weeks to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important files before formatting.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the DVR to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) for extended periods, as this can affect battery life and device performance.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for any available firmware updates. Follow the instructions carefully if performing an update.
