General Power Tool Safety Warnings

  • Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
  • Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection, hearing protection, and a dust mask when operating the saw. Dress properly; avoid loose clothing or jewelry. Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense.
  • Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
  • Circular Saw Specific Safety: Keep hands away from the cutting area and the blade. Do not reach underneath the workpiece. Ensure the blade guard is functioning correctly before each use.

3. Setup

3.1 Blade Installation/Replacement

  1. Ensure the saw is unplugged from the power source.
  2. Press and hold the spindle lock button.
  3. Using the appropriate wrench, loosen and remove the blade retaining bolt and outer flange.
  4. Retract the lower blade guard and carefully remove the old blade.
  5. Place the new 185mm x 20mm blade onto the spindle, ensuring the teeth are pointing in the direction of rotation indicated on the saw.
  6. Reinstall the outer flange and blade retaining bolt. Tighten securely while holding the spindle lock button.
  7. Release the spindle lock button and check that the blade rotates freely.

3.2 Adjusting Cutting Depth

  1. Unplug the saw.
  2. Loosen the depth adjustment lever.
  3. Raise or lower the base plate to achieve the desired cutting depth. For optimal cutting, the blade should extend approximately 3-6mm below the workpiece.
  4. Securely tighten the depth adjustment lever.

3.3 Adjusting Bevel Angle

  1. Unplug the saw.
  2. Loosen the bevel adjustment lever.
  3. Tilt the base plate to the desired angle (e.g., 45 degrees for bevel cuts). Refer to the angle scale for precision.
  4. Securely tighten the bevel adjustment lever.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Before Starting

  • Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped or supported.
  • Verify the blade is sharp and free from damage.
  • Check that all adjustments (depth, bevel) are securely tightened.
  • Confirm the lower blade guard operates freely.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

4.2 Starting and Stopping the Saw

  1. Plug the saw into a 220-240V power outlet.
  2. To start, depress the power switch.
  3. To stop, release the power switch.

4.3 Making a Cut

  1. Position the front edge of the base plate on the workpiece, ensuring the blade is not touching the material.
  2. Start the saw and allow the blade to reach full speed (4800 RPM) before beginning the cut.
  3. Slowly and steadily push the saw forward through the workpiece. Do not force the saw.
  4. Maintain a firm grip on both handles.
  5. Once the cut is complete, release the power switch and allow the blade to stop completely before lifting the saw from the workpiece.

4.4 Cutting Fiberglass

When cutting fiberglass, ensure adequate ventilation and wear a respirator to avoid inhaling dust particles. Use a sharp blade designed for abrasive materials if possible, though the included blade is suitable for general use. The saw's 1400W motor provides sufficient power for this material.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your circular saw. Always unplug the saw before performing any maintenance.

5.1 Cleaning

  • After each use, clean the saw with a dry cloth to remove dust and debris.
  • Use compressed air to clear dust from motor vents.
  • Ensure the blade guards are free of sawdust and operate smoothly.

5.2 Blade Care

  • Inspect the blade regularly for dullness, cracks, or missing teeth. Replace damaged blades immediately.
  • Clean resin and pitch buildup from the blade using a suitable blade cleaner.

5.3 Carbon Brush Replacement

The saw includes an extra set of carbon brushes for extended life. Carbon brushes wear down over time and need replacement when they become too short. Refer to the saw's housing for access panels to replace the brushes. If unsure, consult a qualified service technician.

5.4 Storage

Store the circular saw in a clean, dry place, out of reach of children. The saw comes packed in a color box for convenient storage and transport.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your circular saw, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
