This section guides you through the initial setup of your Khadas Mind Graphics Card RTX 4060 Ti, including software updates and physical connections.
1.1 Initial Preparation
Before setting up the Mind Graphics, ensure you have the following components:
- Khadas Mind unit
- Mind USB-C power cable
- Mind power adapter
- Mind Graphics unit
- Mind Graphics AC power cable
- Monitor, keyboard, and mouse
Connect the Khadas Mind to a power source using its USB-C power cable and power adapter. Connect the Mind to a monitor. Power on the Mind by pressing its power button. Important: Do NOT connect Mind to Mind Graphics before completing the software upgrade.

1.2 Software Update
To ensure optimal performance and compatibility, update your Mind's software to the latest versions.
- Uninstall Old Mind App: From the Windows system tray, right-click the Mind App icon and select "Quit Mind App". Then, go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, right-click "Mind" and select "Uninstall".
- Download Latest Mind App: Download and install the latest Mind App from the official Khadas website: https://dl.khadas.com/products/mind/app/. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
- Update BIOS: Open the newly installed Mind App. Navigate to Mind > Device Upgrade > BIOS Upgrade. Click "Check for updates" and upgrade the BIOS system to v1.1 or later. Restart Mind when prompted.
- Update EC Firmware: After the BIOS update, open the Mind App again. Go to Mind > Device Upgrade > EC Firmware Upgrade. Click "Check for updates" and upgrade the EC firmware to v1.1 or later. Restart Mind when prompted.
1.3 Connect Mind to Graphics
Once all software updates are complete, you can connect your Mind to the Mind Graphics unit.
- Turn off the Khadas Mind unit.
- Connect the Mind Graphics to AC power using its power cable.
- Remove the Mind Link silicone protective cover from the Mind Graphics unit.
- Carefully place the Khadas Mind unit into the Mind Graphics unit, ensuring the Mind Link interface is properly aligned and connected.
- Press the Mind's power button to turn it on. The Mind Graphics will now power the Mind via Mind Link, allowing you to remove the Mind's USB-C power cable.

2. Operation

2.1 Install GPU Driver
After connecting Mind to Graphics, you will need to install the GPU driver.
- Open the Mind App. If a "Graphics Card Driver Missing" message appears, click "OK" and then "Go & Install".
- Follow the prompts to download the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti driver from the driver upgrade page.
- Install the NVIDIA Graphics Driver. Accept the license agreement and choose "Express" installation.
- Restart Mind when prompted to complete the driver installation.
- After restarting, the Mind App may remind you to install a patch. Open the Mind App and install the patch.
- Restart Mind again to complete the patch installation process.
2.2 Set Device Mode for Swapping Mind Modules
To ensure a smooth experience when swapping Mind modules, configure the device mode.
- Open the Mind App.
- Go to "Device Info" and locate "Device Mode When Unplugged".
- Change this setting to "Hibernate". Confirm the change when prompted.
2.3 Disconnecting Mind from Graphics
To safely disconnect the Mind from the Mind Graphics unit:
- Press the "Mind Unlock Button" located on the Mind Graphics unit.
- Follow the prompts in the Mind App to confirm disconnection.
- Physically remove the Mind unit from the Mind Graphics unit.

3. Maintenance

4.1 Force Restart Mind (Blue Screen or Display Abnormalities)

- Press and hold the Mind's power button for 8 seconds.

- Release the power button, then press it again briefly to restart the Mind.
4.2 Force Unlock and Remove Mind (Cannot Detach Normally)
If you cannot detach the Mind from Mind Graphics normally:
- Long press the "Mind Unlock Button" on the Mind Graphics unit for 10 seconds.
- Physically remove the Mind unit from the Mind Graphics unit.
