2. Safety Instructions

4. Setup and First Use

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers from the machine.
  2. Place the espresso machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and heat.

4.2 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Remove the detachable water tank from the back of the machine.
  2. Fill the tank with fresh, cold, filtered water. Do not exceed the MAX mark.
  3. Place the water tank back into the machine, ensuring it is securely seated.

4.3 Initial Rinse (First Use)

Before first use, or if the machine has not been used for a long time, perform an initial rinse to clean the internal components.

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Place an empty cup under the portafilter spout.
  3. Press the power button to turn on the machine. The indicator lights will blink while heating up.
  4. Once the lights stop blinking (indicating it's ready), press the 2-cup button to run hot water through the system.
  5. Repeat this process 2-3 times.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Making Espresso

  1. Prepare the Portafilter: Insert the desired filter basket (single or double) into the portafilter.
  2. Add Ground Coffee: Use the measuring spoon to add finely ground espresso coffee into the filter basket. For a single shot, use one level spoon; for a double shot, use two level spoons.

  1. Tamp the Coffee: Use the tamper end of the measuring spoon to gently press the coffee grounds evenly. Do not over-tamp, as this can lead to inadequate pressure and poor extraction.
  2. Attach Portafilter: Align the portafilter with the group head on the machine and twist it firmly to the right until it locks into place.

  1. Place Cup(s): Place your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts. For taller cups, the drip tray can be removed.
  2. Select Brew Size: Press the 1-cup button for a single espresso shot (25-60ml) or the 2-cup button for a double espresso shot (45-120ml). The machine will automatically brew and stop.

5.2 Milk Frothing

  1. Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
  2. Activate Steam: Press the steam button on the touchscreen. The steam indicator light will blink while heating up.
  3. Position Steam Wand: Once the steam light is solid, position the steam wand just below the surface of the milk in the pitcher.
  4. Start Frothing: Turn the steam control knob on the side of the machine to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down to create desired foam texture.

  1. Stop Frothing: Turn the steam control knob back to the off position when desired foam is achieved.
  2. Clean Steam Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Run a short burst of steam to clear any internal blockages.

5.3 Cup Warmer

The top surface of the espresso machine acts as a cup warmer. Place your espresso cups on this stainless steel mat to preheat them, ensuring your coffee stays warmer for longer.

5.4 Removable Drip Tray

The drip tray is removable for easy cleaning and to accommodate taller cups. Simply slide it out from the front of the machine.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your espresso machine.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard used coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under hot water.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Run a short burst of steam to clear any milk residue from inside the wand.
  • Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily or when the red indicator float appears.

6.2 Water Tank Cleaning

Clean the water tank regularly with mild detergent and rinse thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

6.3 Descaling

Depending on water hardness, descaling should be performed every 2-3 months to prevent mineral buildup. Refer to the full instruction manual for detailed descaling procedures using a descaling solution.
