Setup Instructions
1. Battery Installation
The clock operates on one battery (included). To install or replace the battery:
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the back of the clock.
- Insert the battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Initial Time and Date Setting
After battery installation, the clock will power on. You will need to set the current time and date.
- Press and hold the SET button until the time display begins to flash.
- Use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) arrow buttons to adjust the hour.
- Press SET again to move to the minute setting, then adjust using the arrow buttons.
- Continue pressing SET to cycle through and adjust the year, month, and day.
- Once all settings are correct, press SET one last time to confirm and exit the setting mode.
Operating Instructions
1. Setting the Alarm
The clock features an ascending beep alarm.
- Press the MONITOR button to view the alarm time.
- While the alarm time is displayed, press and hold the SET button until the alarm hour flashes.
- Use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) arrow buttons to set the desired alarm hour.
- Press SET again to move to the alarm minute setting, then adjust using the arrow buttons.
- Press SET one last time to confirm the alarm setting.
- To activate or deactivate the alarm, press the MONITOR button repeatedly until the alarm icon (bell symbol) appears or disappears on the display.
2. Snooze Function
When the alarm sounds, press the large bar button on the top of the clock to activate the snooze function. The alarm will temporarily stop and sound again after approximately 5 minutes. The automatic alarm stop function will silence the alarm after 5 minutes if no button is pressed.
3. Backlight
Press the large bar button on the top of the clock to illuminate the display for a few seconds, providing temporary visibility in dark environments.
4. Daylight Saving Time (DST)
To adjust for Daylight Saving Time:
- Press the DST button. The time display will advance or recede by one hour, and a 'DST' indicator will appear or disappear on the screen.
5. Calendar Display
The clock displays the month and day. You can switch between Month/Day (MD) and Day/Month (DM) format by pressing the MONITOR button while in normal time display mode.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
To clean the clock, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the plastic case and display.
2. Battery Replacement
When the display becomes dim or the alarm function weakens, it is time to replace the battery. Refer to the 'Battery Installation' section under Setup Instructions for guidance.
Troubleshooting
- Display is blank or dim:
Ensure the battery is correctly installed with the proper polarity. Replace the battery if it is old or depleted. - Alarm does not sound:
Verify that the alarm is activated (alarm icon visible on display). Check that the alarm time is set correctly. Replace the battery if necessary. - Incorrect time or date:
Follow the 'Initial Time and Date Setting' instructions to reset the time and date. If the time drifts significantly, replace the battery. - Buttons are unresponsive:
Try pressing the RESET button (usually a small recessed button requiring a pointed object like a pen tip) to restart the clock. If the issue persists, replace the battery.
