Wired Connection Overview

The hardwire kit features a 3-in-1 cable designed for a secure and reliable connection to your vehicle's power system. The cable length is approximately 11.5ft (3.5m).

It illustrates the black wire connecting to a metal ground bolt/screw, the yellow wire to a constant fuse slot (BAT), and the red wire to an ACC fuse slot. The Type-C connector plugs into the dash cam.

  • Black Wire (GND): Connect to a metal ground bolt or screw on the vehicle chassis.
  • Yellow Wire (BAT): Connect to a constant fuse slot in the fuse box. This supplies power even when the engine is off, enabling parking surveillance.
  • Red Wire (ACC): Connect to an ACC fuse slot in the fuse box. This wire only receives power when the ignition is on.

Automatic Engine Status Detection

The 3-in-1 cable is designed to automatically detect the engine's status, allowing the dash cam to record without manual settings.

Operating Instructions

Adjustable Low Voltage Protection

The ecomoment Hardwire Kit features adjustable low voltage protection to prevent your vehicle's battery from draining. You can set the cut-off voltage in 0.1V increments.

  1. Long press any button on the hardwire kit for 3 seconds until the LED display lights up.
  2. Use the +/- buttons on the hardwire kit to set your desired cut-off voltage. We recommend setting the cut-off voltage to 11.8V.
  3. After setting, wait until the LED display flashes three times. This confirms the setting is saved.

When the vehicle's voltage drops below the set cut-off value, the hardwire kit will automatically stop power output after 1 minute to protect the battery.

24-Hour Parking Monitoring

With correct installation, the hardwire kit provides continuous power to your dash cam, enabling 24-hour parking surveillance.

  1. Ensure the hardwire kit is connected correctly as described in the 'Wired Connection Overview' section.
  2. Access your dash cam's menu and navigate to Setting > Parking Guard > ON.
  3. To enable time-lapse recording during parking, go to Setting > Time-lapse > ON. With this option, every 30 minutes of video will be compressed into 1 minute and saved to the memory card.

When the car's engine is turned off, the dash cam will automatically enter parking monitor mode.

Upgraded Type-C Connector

The hardwire kit features an upgraded Type-C connector for enhanced performance and user convenience.

Maintenance

The ecomoment V5F Hardwire Kit is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance. Ensure all connections remain secure and free from corrosion. Periodically check the fuse connections for any signs of wear or damage.

Troubleshooting

  • Dash Cam Not Receiving Power:
    • Check all wire connections (Black, Yellow, Red) to ensure they are securely attached.
    • Verify that the correct fuse tap is used and the fuse itself is not blown.
    • Ensure the Type-C connector is fully inserted into the dash cam.
  • Parking Monitor Not Working:
    • Confirm the Yellow (BAT) wire is connected to a constant power fuse slot.
    • Check your dash cam's settings to ensure 'Parking Guard' is enabled.
    • Verify the vehicle battery voltage is above the set cut-off voltage.
  • Battery Drain:
    • Ensure the low voltage protection is set correctly (recommended 11.8V).
    • If the issue persists, consult a professional for vehicle electrical system inspection.
