3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, ensure the NF-524 is fully charged. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the device and a compatible power source. The charging indicator on the device will show its status.

3.2 Powering On/Off

To power on the device, press and hold the power button located on the side of the unit until the screen illuminates. To power off, press and hold the same button until the screen shuts down.

3.3 Language Selection

The device supports multiple languages. Navigate to the settings menu to select your preferred language. The NF-524 supports Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and Russian.

4. Operating the Thermal Imager

4.1 Basic Operation and Display

The NF-524 features a 2.8" LCD screen with 120x90 IR resolution. It provides real-time thermal imaging, allowing you to visualize temperature differences. The display shows the current temperature, maximum temperature (MAX), and minimum temperature (MIN) within the field of view.

4.2 Image Modes and Color Palettes

The NF-524 offers 5 measurement image modes and 8 color palettes to optimize visualization for different scenarios:

  • Image Modes: Edge Fusion Technology, Thermal Imaging, Dual Light Fusion, Visible Light, Picture-in-Picture.
  • Color Palettes: Iron Red, White Hot, Black Hot, Rainbow, Red Hot, High Contrast, Green Hot, Lava.

4.3 Temperature Measurement and Tracking

The device features three temperature measurement modes: center point, maximum temperature, and minimum temperature. It also includes automatic tracking and alarm functions to identify and lock the lowest and highest temperature points, aiding in efficient detection.

The enhanced test range is -4°F to 725°F (-20°C to 330°C), with an accuracy of ±1.8°F or ±1% of the temperature reading range.

4.4 Laser Pointer

The built-in Class 2 (<1mW) laser pointer assists in precisely locating the inspected object, especially in dim environments or small areas. Activate the laser from the settings menu.

The device allows users to adjust the emissivity setting (range 0.01 - 0.99) according to specific material properties. This ensures more accurate temperature measurements. Adjust the ambient temperature and distance to the object for optimal readings.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Device
