3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation and Powering On

  1. Insert the provided NP-F550 Lithium Ion battery into the battery slot on the back of the monitor until it clicks into place.
  2. Alternatively, connect the monitor to a power source using the USB-C cable (5V 3A) or a DC 12-18V adapter.
  3. Press and hold the ON/OFF key (5) to power on the monitor.

3.2. Mounting the Monitor

Attach the VL-550 Cold Shoe Adapter to the 1/4 screw hole (9) or locating hole (8) on the monitor. Then, mount the adapter onto your camera's hot shoe or a compatible rig.

3.3. Connecting to a Camera

Use the appropriate HDMI cable (HDMI to HDMI or Mini HDMI to HDMI) to connect your camera's HDMI output port to the monitor's HDMI input (12). The monitor supports 4K HDMI input/output.

3.4. Attaching the Sunshade Hood

The quick-release sunshade hood can be easily attached to the monitor to reduce glare and improve visibility in bright outdoor conditions.

  • Settings Not Saving:
    • After making changes, ensure you properly exit the menu or confirm the settings to save them. Some settings may require a specific confirmation step.
    • If the issue persists, try performing a factory reset (if available in the menu) and reconfigure your settings.
  • Washed Out Colors:
    • Access the monitor's picture settings and change the "Picture Mode" to "Vivid" or adjust color saturation and contrast manually to achieve desired results.
