Operating Instructions

Dusk to Dawn Sensor Functionality

This outdoor post light is equipped with a built-in photocell sensor. This sensor automatically detects ambient light levels to provide convenient, energy-efficient lighting.

Two images showing the post light in daytime and nighttime. In daytime, the light is off. In nighttime, the light is on, with a 'Dusk to Dawn Sensor' label.

Image: This composite image demonstrates the functionality of the dusk to dawn sensor. The top panel shows the post light off during daylight hours. The bottom panel shows the same light automatically illuminated at night, with an inset highlighting the sensor.

  • The light will automatically turn ON when it detects low light conditions (dusk).
  • The light will automatically turn OFF when it detects sufficient ambient light (dawn).
  • Ensure the sensor is not obstructed by objects or direct artificial light sources (e.g., streetlights, other porch lights), as this may interfere with its proper operation.

Bulb Requirements

The fixture uses an E26 standard base bulb.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your outdoor post light.

  • Cleaning: To clean the fixture, turn off the power at the circuit breaker and allow the fixture to cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes, as these may damage the finish or glass.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the wiring and connections for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Ensure all mounting hardware remains secure. Tighten any loose screws if necessary.
  • Bulb Replacement: Always turn off the power at the circuit breaker before replacing the bulb. Allow the old bulb to cool before removal. Replace with an E26 base bulb, not exceeding 60W.
