Setup

  1. Unpack the Telephone: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure you have the telephone base, handset, coiled handset cord, and telephone line cord.
  2. Install Batteries:
    • Disconnect the telephone line cord from the unit before opening the battery compartment.
    • Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the telephone base.
    • Insert 1 AA battery (not included) into the compartment, observing the correct polarity (+/-). The display requires batteries to function. If the LCD becomes dark or contrast cannot be changed, replace the batteries.
    • Close the battery compartment cover securely.
  3. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the jack labeled HANDSET on the side of the telephone base.
  4. Connect to Telephone Line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack labeled LINE on the back of the telephone base. Plug the other end into your wall telephone jack.

Operating Instructions

Making a Call:

  1. Pick up the handset or press the SPEAKER button to activate the speakerphone.
  2. Dial the desired phone number using the numeric keypad.
  3. To end the call, place the handset back on the cradle or press the SPEAKER button again.

Receiving a Call:

  • When the phone rings, pick up the handset or press the SPEAKER button.
  • To receive Caller ID messages correctly, pick up the handset after the telephone rings twice.

Using Pre-Dial and Redial:

  • Pre-Dial: While the phone is on-hook, dial a number. You can edit it using the DEL button before pressing the handset or SPEAKER button to dial.
  • Redial: Press the REDIAL button to automatically dial the last number called.

Call Hold with Music:

During an active call, press the HOLD/RING button to place the caller on hold. The phone will play one of three music options to the caller. Press HOLD/RING again to resume the call.

Adjusting Volume:

Use the VOLUME switch located on the back of the telephone base to adjust the handset and speakerphone volume to your preference (HI/LO).

Maintenance
