1. Important Safety Information

General Safety Warnings:

• SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Infants have suffocated in gaps between extra padding and bassinet sides, and on soft bedding. Use ONLY the mattress provided by the manufacturer. NEVER add a pillow, comforter, or another mattress for padding.
• ENTRAPMENT HAZARD: To prevent entrapment, ensure the bassinet is securely attached to the adult bed when used in bedside sleeper mode. The side panel must be fully raised and locked when not in bedside sleeper mode.
• FALL HAZARD: To prevent falls, do not use this product once the infant begins to push up on hands and knees, or has reached 20 lbs (9 kg), or is 5 months old, whichever comes first.
• Always ensure the bassinet is on a firm, horizontal surface.
• Keep small parts away from children during assembly.
• This product is JPMA certified and passes ASTM F2194 safety standards.

3. Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps carefully to assemble your Beside Me Serenity Bassinet. A screwdriver is required for some steps.

Step-by-Step Assembly:

1. Attach Feet to Leg Tubes: Firmly plug the left and right feet into their respective leg tubes until you hear a "click". This ensures they are securely in place.
2. Connect Leg Tubes to Top Tube: Connect the left and right leg tubes into the top tube until you hear a "click", indicating they are properly joined.
3. Insert Horizontal Crossbar: Insert the horizontal crossbar with its buttons facing downward into each leg until you hear a "click", ensuring a snug fit.
4. Insert Back Support Frame: Slide the back support frame into the leg tube receptacles until you hear a "click".
5. Insert Front Support Frame: Repeat the process with the front support frame, ensuring it clicks into the leg tube receptacles securely.
6. Plug Bedrail Tube: Plug the bedrail tube into the front support frame until it clicks into place, completing the framework assembly.
7. Position Bassinet Frame: Place the bassinet frame against the adult bed, aligning the top edge of the bedrail tube with the top of the adult mattress.
8. Secure Legs: Ensure both legs are adjusted to the same height. Secure with 4 screws (2 per leg) using a screwdriver.
9. Place Fabric Cover: Carefully place the fabric cover over the top of the assembled frame, ensuring it covers the top securely.
10. Insert Top Tube through Fabric Cover: Insert the top tube through the opening on the front of the fabric cover, on both left and right sides.
11. Tuck Bedrail Tube: Tuck the bedrail tube through the opening in the front of the fabric cover, aligning it properly.
12. Lock Bedrail Tube: Lock the bedrail tube into the grooves on the top bar. You will hear it click into place.
13. Secure Fabric Cover: Secure the fabric cover to the front support tube using the provided 3 hook and loop fasteners, ensuring a snug fit.
14. Place Mattress: Carefully place the mattress inside the frame, ensuring the curved edge of the mattress aligns with the curved edge of the frame.
15. Snap Mattress Clips: Press the mattress down until the plastic clips on the bottom of the mattress snap onto the middle support frame.
16. Slide Anchor Straps: Slide the anchor straps between the top mattress and the base across the opposite side of the bed. Tighten the loop by pulling the anchor straps firmly. Adjust the anchor straps separately until the bedside sleeper is firmly in contact with the parent's mattress.

4. Operating the Bassinet

Bedside Sleeper Mode:

To use as a bedside sleeper, ensure the bassinet is securely attached to your adult bed using the anchor straps. The 7-position height adjustment allows for perfect alignment with most adult beds.

• Height Adjustment: Adjust the bassinet to one of 7 height positions to match your bed's mattress height. This is done by pressing the buttons on the leg tubes and sliding them up or down.
• Zip-Down Side Panel: Unzip the panel closest to your bed to lower the side for easy access to your baby for nighttime feedings and comforting. Always ensure the panel is zipped up and secured when not actively accessing the baby.
• Anchor Straps: Use the provided anchor straps to securely fasten the bassinet to your adult bed, preventing any gaps or movement.

Stand-Alone Bassinet Mode:

The bassinet can also be used independently in any room. Ensure the side panel is fully raised and locked when used in stand-alone mode.

• Frame Cleaning: Wipe the metal frame and plastic components with a damp cloth and mild soap. Dry thoroughly.
• Mattress: The mattress cover can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash the mattress pad itself.
