The Pentair Everpure H-1200 system is designed for straightforward installation. It is recommended to consult a qualified plumber for installation or follow the detailed instructions provided in the official user manual.
General Installation Tips:
- Install vertically with the cartridge hanging down.
- Ensure sufficient space for cartridge changes (approximately 2-1/2 inches of clear space under the unit).
- The kit includes the filters, mount, adapters, coupling devices, and water hose for a complete setup.
For comprehensive, step-by-step installation instructions, please refer to the official PDF User Manual linked in the Support & Warranty section.
4. Operation
Once installed, the Pentair Everpure H-1200 system operates continuously, providing filtered water on demand. Water flows through the dual-stage cartridges, which effectively reduce impurities and improve taste and odor.
The system is designed to retain vital minerals naturally found in water, ensuring a delicious taste while providing cleaner water.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance, primarily filter cartridge replacement, is crucial to ensure the continued performance and effectiveness of your H-1200 system. Filters should be replaced approximately every 1,000 gallons or once a year, whichever comes first.
Signs for Replacement:
- Diminished water flow from your faucet or dispenser. This indicates that the activated carbon inside the filters is reaching its end of life.
Cartridge Replacement Procedure:
- Shut Off Water Supply: Locate and shut off the water supply to your filter unit. Many systems have a shut-off valve for each cartridge on the unit itself.
- Remove Old Cartridges: Turn each cartridge to the left as far as it can go (you will see a notch appear). Pull down to remove it. Place a towel underneath the cartridges before removal to catch any residual water.
- Prepare New Cartridges: Remove the plastic wrap and the plastic cap from the top of each new cartridge.
- Install New Cartridges: Insert the new cartridge with the notch aligned in the same place as the old one. Turn the cartridge to the right as far as it can go until you feel it lock securely into place.
- Flush System: After both new cartridges are locked in, turn the water supply back on to the unit. Let the water run from your output (e.g., water spout, fridge dispenser) for 7-10 minutes to flush the new cartridges and remove any trapped air.
Tip: When changing filters, especially for the first time, install the first filter (#1) and flush it into a bucket before installing the second filter (#2). When replacing both, flush the new #1 into the existing #2, then replace #2.
6. Troubleshooting
Most common issues with the H-1200 system relate to water flow or taste.
