This tub spout is designed for easy slip-on installation on 1/2 inch copper pipes. Please ensure your existing pipe meets this specification before proceeding.

  1. Prepare the Area: Turn off the main water supply to your bathroom. Remove any existing tub spout. Clean the end of the 1/2 inch copper pipe extending from the wall.
  2. Measure Pipe: Ensure your copper pipe is 1/2 inch in size. The slip-on adapter is designed to fit a 1/2 inch copper pipe with an outside diameter of approximately 5/8 inch.
  3. Install Adapter: Slide the slip-on adapter onto the copper pipe. Ensure it is seated firmly.
  4. Position Spout: Slide the new YASINU tub spout over the adapter and onto the copper pipe. Push it firmly against the wall, ensuring it is level.
  5. Secure Spout: Locate the set screw on the underside of the tub spout. Use an appropriate screwdriver (not included) to tighten the set screw, securing the spout to the adapter and pipe. Do not overtighten.
  6. Test for Leaks: Turn the main water supply back on. Run water through the tub spout and check for any leaks around the connection point. If leaks occur, turn off the water, check the set screw tightness, and ensure the spout is properly seated.

Operating Instructions

The YASINU tub spout features a built-in diverter for easy switching between tub filler and shower functions.

  • To Fill Tub: Ensure the diverter knob on top of the spout is in the down position. Turn on your bath faucet handles to allow water to flow from the tub spout.
  • To Use Shower: While water is flowing from the tub spout, pull the diverter knob upwards. This will redirect the water flow to your showerhead.
  • To Return to Tub: Push the diverter knob back down. Water will cease flowing to the showerhead and resume flowing from the tub spout.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will help preserve the finish and functionality of your tub spout.

  • Cleaning: Clean the spout regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap or a non-abrasive bathroom cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or scouring pads, as these can damage the matte black finish.
  • Diverter Care: If the diverter mechanism becomes stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the moving parts.
  • Leak Checks: Periodically check for any signs of leaks around the spout and connections. Address any leaks promptly to prevent water damage.
