If the display shows a green light and voltage between 103-132V, the power source is safe. Any other indication requires investigation before connecting your RV.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the surge protector with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the surge protector in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the plugs, receptacle, and cable for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Ensure the waterproof cover is intact.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Power to RV: Check the surge protector's display for error codes. If an error code is present, do not connect your RV until the power source issue is resolved.
  • Surge Protector Shuts Off: The device automatically shuts off if voltage is outside the safe range (below 103V or above 132V) or if an over-temperature condition (E6) is detected. It will automatically reset once conditions stabilize. If it repeatedly shuts off, there is a persistent issue with the power source or an appliance in your RV.
  • Flickering Display/Lights: This indicates an open neutral condition. Disconnect immediately and have the power source inspected by a qualified electrician.
  • High Temperature Alarm (E6): If the display shows E6, the internal temperature has exceeded 110°C. Unplug the power supply immediately and allow the unit to cool down. Check for potential overloading or poor ventilation around the unit.
