5. Setup and Installation
5.1. Download the App
The SENCKIT Smart Soil Sensor requires the Tuya Smart or Smart Life application for control and monitoring. Please download one of these applications to your smartphone or tablet.
- Method 1: Scan the QR codes provided below using your device's camera or a QR code scanner app.
- Method 2: Search for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" in your device's respective app store (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play Store) and download the official application.

5.2. Install Batteries
The sensor is powered by 3 AA batteries. Ensure these are correctly installed before proceeding with pairing.
- Locate the battery compartment on the sensor.
- Open the compartment and insert 3 AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
- Securely close the battery compartment.

5.3. Connect to Zigbee Hub
A Tuya Zigbee hub (gateway) is essential for the soil sensor to communicate with the app. Ensure your Zigbee hub is powered on and properly connected to your home network and the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app.

5.4. Pair the Soil Sensor

- Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.

- On the soil sensor, press and hold the reset button (usually located near the waterproof rubber plug) for approximately 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes, signifying it is in pairing mode.
