Programmable Electrical Timer Plug

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the KETOTEK Digital Timer Socket. This device allows you to automate the power supply to various appliances, helping you save energy and simplify daily routines. It features 20 ON/OFF programs, a 7-day/24-hour programming cycle, and special functions like anti-theft random mode and countdown. Please read this manual carefully before use to ensure proper operation and safety.

2. Safety Information

  • The timer is designed for indoor use only. Ensure the timer is kept dry and away from water or high humidity.
  • Do not attempt to repair, disassemble, or modify the device under any circumstances. This may void the warranty and pose a safety risk.
  • Ensure the connected appliance's power consumption does not exceed the timer's maximum output of 16A 3600W.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Operating temperature range: 0~55°C.

3. Product Overview

The KETOTEK Digital Timer Socket features a large LCD display and intuitive buttons for easy programming. It is designed to be user-friendly for controlling various household devices.

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Charging and Reset

The device contains a built-in rechargeable battery. Upon first receipt or after a long period of disuse, the display may not show anything due to a discharged battery.

  1. Plug the timer into a standard power outlet for at least 10 minutes (or up to 2 hours if completely depleted) to charge the internal battery.
  2. After charging, locate the RESET (R) button on the front panel (often a small recessed button).
  3. Use a pointed object (like a pen tip) to press the RESET button. The display will clear and show 00:00. This initializes the timer for programming.

4.2 Setting Current Time

Before setting programs, ensure the current time and day are correctly set.

  1. Press and hold the CLOCK button.
  2. While holding CLOCK, press the WEEK button repeatedly to select the current day of the week (MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU).
  3. While holding CLOCK, press the HOUR button repeatedly to set the current hour.
  4. While holding CLOCK, press the MIN button repeatedly to set the current minute.
  5. Release the CLOCK button. The current time and day are now set.

4.3 12/24 Hour Switching

To switch between 12-hour (AM/PM) and 24-hour display formats:

  • Press the CLOCK button and MODE button simultaneously. The display will toggle between 12-hour and 24-hour format.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Programming ON/OFF Times

The timer allows for up to 20 ON/OFF programs. Each program consists of an ON time and an OFF time.

  1. Press the PROG button once. The display will show "1 ON" and the time will flash.
  2. Press WEEK to select the desired day(s) for this program. You can choose individual days, weekdays, weekends, or all 7 days.
  3. Press HOUR to set the ON hour.
  4. Press MIN to set the ON minute.
  5. Press PROG again. The display will show "1 OFF" and the time will flash.
  6. Press WEEK to select the desired day(s) for this OFF program (usually matching the ON program).
  7. Press HOUR to set the OFF hour.
  8. Press MIN to set the OFF minute.
  9. Repeat steps 1-8 for additional programs (up to 20).
  10. After setting all desired programs, press the CLOCK button to return to the current time display.

5.2 Manual Override (MODE Button)

The MODE button allows you to cycle through different operating states:

  • ON: The connected appliance is continuously ON, overriding all programs.
  • AUTO: The timer operates according to the programmed ON/OFF times. This is the standard operating mode.
  • OFF: The connected appliance is continuously OFF, overriding all programs.

Press the MODE button repeatedly to select the desired state.

5.3 Special Functions

The KETOTEK Digital Timer Socket includes several special functions for enhanced utility.

5.3.1 Anti-theft Random Function

This function randomly turns the connected appliance (e.g., a light) ON and OFF within a set period, creating the impression that someone is home, even when you are away.

  1. Ensure the timer is in AUTO mode.
  2. Press the RANDOM button (often labeled RND or integrated with another button). The "RND" indicator will appear on the display.
  3. The timer will now randomly activate and deactivate the connected device based on its internal logic, within the programmed ON/OFF times.
  4. To deactivate, press the RANDOM button again. The "RND" indicator will disappear.

5.3.2 Countdown Function

This function allows you to set a countdown timer for the appliance to turn ON or OFF after a specified duration.

  • The Countdown and Random functions are not compatible. Activating one will deactivate the other.
  • Refer to the specific instructions on the device's display or a dedicated button for setting the countdown duration (e.g., press MODE until "CD" appears, then use HOUR/MIN/SEC to set time).

5.3.3 Summer Time Setting

This feature allows for a quick adjustment for Daylight Saving Time.

  • Press the CLOCK button and SUMMER TIME button (or a combination like HOUR and MIN) simultaneously. The display will show "+1h" or similar, indicating a one-hour advance.
  • Repeat the action to revert to standard time.

6. Maintenance

  • Clean the timer with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the timer is unplugged from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Store the timer in a dry place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Display is blank or not working

  • Cause: The internal rechargeable battery is depleted.
  • Solution: Plug the timer into a live power outlet for at least 10 minutes (up to 2 hours for a full charge). Then, press the RESET button with a pointed object.

7.2 Programs are not executing

  • Cause 1: The timer is not in AUTO mode.
  • Solution 1: Press the MODE button until "AUTO" is displayed.
  • Cause 2: Incorrect time or day setting.
  • Solution 2: Re-check and adjust the current time and day as described in Section 4.2.
  • Cause 3: Programs were not saved correctly or are conflicting.
  • Solution 3: Review and re-enter your programs as described in Section 5.1. Ensure ON and OFF times do not overlap illogically.

7.3 Random or Countdown function not working

  • Cause: Random and Countdown functions are mutually exclusive.
  • Solution: Ensure only one of these functions is activated at a time. Activating one will deactivate the other.
