Setup and Installation

Package Contents:

  • CHORTAU B-T52 4K Dash Cam
  • Rear Camera
  • 3.5m Car Charger Power Cord
  • 2 x 3M Adhesive Mounts
  • 2 x Electrostatic Stickers
  • Car Wire Trim Tool
  • Pin (for reset)
  • User Manual
  • 64GB Memory Card (pre-inserted)

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Mounting Area: Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the dash cam. Apply an electrostatic sticker to the windshield first, then attach the adhesive mount to the sticker for easier removal later.
  2. Mount the Front Dash Cam: Attach the main dash cam unit to the adhesive mount on your windshield. Ensure it does not obstruct your driving view. The lens can be slightly adjusted up and down.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the 3.5m car charger power cord into the dash cam's Type-C port and route the cable neatly along the windshield edge using the provided trim tool. Plug the other end into your car's cigarette lighter socket.
  4. Install Rear Camera: Mount the rear camera on your rear windshield. Connect the rear camera cable to the main dash cam unit. Route the cable neatly to avoid interference.
  5. Insert Memory Card: The 64GB memory card is typically pre-inserted. If not, insert it into the designated slot. Ensure it is a Class 10, 32GB-256GB card for optimal performance.
  6. Initial Setup: Once powered on, the dash cam will automatically start recording. It is recommended to format the memory card directly on the dash cam before first use and on a monthly basis thereafter.

Operating Instructions

Basic Operation:

  • Power On/Off: The dash cam will automatically power on and off with your vehicle's ignition.
  • Recording: Once powered on, the dash cam automatically begins loop recording.
  • Loop Recording: Videos are recorded in segments (e.g., 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 3 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are overwritten.
  • G-Sensor (Emergency Lock): In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the G-sensor will automatically detect it and lock the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording.
  • Parking Monitor: When enabled, the dash cam will automatically turn on and record a locked video if your parked car experiences a collision or shake. This requires the dash cam to be continuously powered (e.g., via a hardwire kit, not included).
  • Motion Detection: If enabled, the dash cam will start recording when it detects movement in front of the vehicle. It is recommended to disable this feature while driving to avoid unnecessary recordings and save memory card space, as the dash cam is already continuously recording.

Wi-Fi and App Control:

The CHORTAU B-T52 features built-in WiFi for convenient control and access via your smartphone. Download the free Viidure app from your device's app store (compatible with Android and iOS).

  • Connect to WiFi: Enable WiFi on your dash cam and connect your smartphone to the dash cam's WiFi network.
  • Live View: Use the app to view a real-time feed from your dash cam.
  • Playback: Access recorded videos directly from the app for playback.
  • Download: Download important video clips to your smartphone's gallery.
  • Share: Easily share your travel footage or incident videos to social media platforms.
  • Settings: Adjust dash cam settings, such as resolution, G-sensor sensitivity, and loop recording duration, directly from the app.

Maintenance

  • Memory Card Formatting: To ensure optimal performance and prevent "card full" errors, it is highly recommended to format the memory card on the dash cam on a monthly basis.
  • Keep Plugged In: The built-in battery is primarily for emergency file backup and saving settings. For continuous operation, always keep the dash cam plugged into a power source.
  • Clean Lenses: Regularly clean the front and rear camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear video quality.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the CHORTAU official website or app for any available firmware updates to ensure your dash cam has the latest features and bug fixes.

Troubleshooting

  • "Card Full" Error:
    • Adjust G-sensor sensitivity to medium or low. High sensitivity can cause too many locked files.
    • Ensure loop recording is enabled.
    • Format the memory card regularly (monthly recommended).
    • Disable motion detection while driving.
  • Dash Cam Keeps Prompting to Connect Power:
    • The built-in battery is small and designed for emergency backup only. The dash cam requires constant external power to function normally. Ensure it is always plugged into your car's power outlet.
  • Poor Video Quality:
    • Clean the camera lenses.
    • Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lenses.
    • Check resolution settings in the menu or app.
  • Wi-Fi Connection Issues:
    • Ensure WiFi is enabled on the dash cam.
    • Restart both the dash cam and your smartphone.
    • Ensure you are within close proximity to the dash cam.
