This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of your Omron M2 Plus Blood Pressure Monitor (Model HEM-7146-E). Please read all instructions thoroughly before using the device. Keep this manual for future reference.
The Omron M2 Plus is an automatic blood pressure monitor designed for home use. It measures blood pressure and pulse rate simply and quickly. The device utilizes the oscillometric method of blood pressure measurement.
2. Important Safety Information
Always consult your physician regarding specific information about your blood pressure. Self-diagnosis and treatment based on measurement results can be dangerous. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.
- Do not adjust medication based on measurements from this monitor without consulting your doctor.
- Do not use this device on infants, toddlers, or individuals who cannot express their consent.

3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the blood pressure monitor and all components from the packaging. Ensure all items are present:
- Monitor unit
- Arm cuff
- Instruction manual
- Storage case (if included)
- Batteries (if included)
3.2 Battery Installation
- Open the battery cover on the back of the monitor.
- Insert four 'AA' alkaline batteries according to the polarity markings (+/-) inside the battery compartment.
- Close the battery cover securely.
3.3 Connecting the Arm Cuff
- Insert the air plug of the arm cuff firmly into the air jack on the left side of the monitor unit.
- Ensure the connection is secure to prevent air leakage during measurement.

4. Operating the Monitor
4.1 Before Taking a Measurement
- Avoid eating, drinking alcohol or caffeine, smoking, and exercising for 30 minutes before measurement.
- Rest for at least 5 minutes before taking a measurement.
- Sit upright in a chair with your feet flat on the floor and your back supported.
- Place your arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level.
4.2 Applying the Arm Cuff
- Wrap the cuff around your upper left arm. The air tube should run down the inside of your arm and be aligned with your middle finger.
- The bottom edge of the cuff should be 1 to 2 cm above your elbow.
- Ensure the cuff is snug but not too tight. You should be able to insert two fingers between the cuff and your arm.

4.3 Taking a Measurement
- Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will begin to inflate automatically.
- Remain still and do not talk during the measurement.
- Once the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your systolic pressure (SYS), diastolic pressure (DIA), and pulse rate will be displayed on the screen.
- Press the START/STOP button again to turn off the monitor. If you forget, it will automatically shut off after 2 minutes.

4.4 Understanding Your Readings
The display shows three main values:
- SYS (Systolic Pressure): The highest pressure in your arteries when your heart beats.
- DIA (Diastolic Pressure): The lowest pressure in your arteries when your heart rests between beats.
- PULSE: Your heart rate, measured in beats per minute.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- Clean the monitor unit and cuff with a soft, dry cloth.
- If necessary, use a soft cloth moistened with water and a mild detergent, then wipe dry.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
5.2 Storage
- Store the monitor and cuff in the provided storage case or a clean, dry place.
- Avoid extreme temperatures, humidity, direct sunlight, and dust.
- Do not fold the cuff or air tube tightly.
5.3 Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace all four 'AA' batteries with new ones. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your monitor, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
