5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew coffee with your VINCI RDT Elite Coffee Maker:

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid (it opens 180 degrees for easy access) and pour fresh, cold water into the reservoir up to your desired number of cups (max 12 cups). Ensure the water level does not exceed the MAX fill line.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the permanent gold mesh filter into the brew basket, or use a #2 or #4 paper filter. Add your preferred amount of ground coffee. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee per cup, but adjust to your taste. Close the lid securely.
  3. Position Carafe: Ensure the empty glass carafe with its lid is correctly placed on the warming plate.
  4. Brew Coffee:
    • Immediate Brew: Press the "BREW" button. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
    • Using Bloom Feature: If desired, press the "BREW" button. The coffee maker will pre-soak the grounds for a short period before continuing the full brew cycle. This enhances flavor.
  5. Wake to Brew Timer (Programmable Brewing):
    • Set the current time using the "HOUR" and "MIN" buttons, then press "CLOCK".
    • Press the "TIMER" button. The display will show "TIMER ON".
    • Use the "HOUR" and "MIN" buttons to set your desired brew start time.
    • Press "TIMER" again to confirm. The "TIMER ON" indicator will remain lit. The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the set time.
  6. Keep Warm Function: After brewing, the warming plate will automatically keep the coffee warm. You can program the keep warm duration for up to 4 hours. Refer to the full manual for specific programming steps for the keep warm feature.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
  • Wash the glass carafe, carafe lid, and permanent filter in warm, soapy water after each use. Rinse thoroughly. Note: The carafe is not dishwasher safe.
  • The brew basket can be removed and rinsed under running water.
  • Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.

Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal):

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and coffee taste. The "Clean Reminder" feature will alert you when descaling is recommended.

  1. Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts cold water. Fill the water reservoir with this solution up to the 12-cup mark.
  2. Place an empty filter (permanent or paper) in the brew basket and position the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Press the "BREW" button to start a brewing cycle. Allow half of the solution to brew through, then turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Turn the coffee maker back on to complete the brewing cycle.
  5. Discard the vinegar solution and rinse the carafe thoroughly.
  6. Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, cold water only to flush out any remaining vinegar taste.

7. Troubleshooting

Water overflows from filter basket. Too much coffee grounds; filter not seated correctly; clogged filter. Reduce coffee amount. Ensure filter is properly placed. Clean the permanent filter or use a new paper filter.
Coffee tastes bad. Mineral buildup; stale coffee; dirty carafe. Descale the coffee maker. Use fresh coffee. Clean the carafe thoroughly.
