Setup & Installation

This fixture is designed for hard-wired installation. If you are unsure about electrical wiring, consult a qualified electrician.

Installation Steps:

  1. Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling the light switch or outlet you are working on and turn it OFF. Ensure power is completely disconnected before proceeding.
  2. Prepare Wiring: If replacing an existing fixture, carefully remove it. Pull the electrical wires from the junction box.
  3. Attach Mounting Plate: Secure the mounting plate (included) to the junction box using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.
  4. Connect Wires: Connect the fixture's wires to your house's electrical wires using the wire nuts provided:
    • Connect the black fixture wire to the black (hot) supply wire.
    • Connect the white fixture wire to the white (neutral) supply wire.
    • Connect the green or bare copper fixture wire to the green or bare copper (ground) supply wire.
    Ensure all connections are secure and cover them with electrical tape if necessary.
  5. Mount Fixture: Carefully align the fixture with the mounting plate and secure it using the provided screws. Ensure the fixture is flush against the wall and stable.
  6. Install Bulb: Insert an E26 base bulb (not included, max 100W) into the socket.
  7. Restore Power: Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker.

Operating Instructions

The BesLowe Motion Sensor Outdoor Light Fixture offers three lighting modes, selectable via a toggle switch located on the fixture (refer to Figure 3 for switch location).

1. High Mode:

  • At night, the light remains at 30% brightness.
  • When motion is detected, the light turns to 100% brightness.
  • After no motion is detected for a set period, the light returns to 30% brightness.

2. Low Mode:

  • At night, the light remains OFF.
  • When motion is detected, the light turns to 100% brightness.
  • After no motion is detected for a set period, the light turns OFF.

3. Manual Override Mode:

  • To activate, quickly toggle your wall switch OFF-ON-OFF-ON within 2 seconds.
  • The light will stay on at 100% brightness for 6-8 hours, regardless of motion.
  • It will automatically turn off at dawn and revert to the previously selected motion detection mode (High or Low).

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your light fixture.

  • Cleaning: To clean the fixture, ensure power is OFF. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or electrical components.
  • Bulb Replacement: Ensure power is OFF before replacing the bulb. The open-bottom design allows for easy bulb access. Allow the old bulb to cool before removing. Install a new E26 base bulb (max 100W).
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the fixture for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Address any issues promptly.
