1. Introduction

Welcome to the INFANS Portable Travel Crib and Playpen user manual. This guide provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your product. Please read all instructions carefully before use and retain this manual for future reference.

The INFANS Travel Crib is designed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for your child, functioning as both a bassinet for newborns and a playpen for toddlers. Its lightweight and foldable design makes it ideal for travel and home use.

2. Important Safety Information

Your child's safety is paramount. Failure to follow these warnings and instructions could result in serious injury or death.

  • WARNING: Never leave child unattended.
  • WARNING: Discontinue use of the bassinet feature when the infant begins to push up on hands and knees, or has reached 20 lbs (9 kg), or is 6 months of age, whichever comes first.
  • WARNING: Discontinue use of the playpen feature when the child is able to climb out, or has reached 33 lbs (15 kg), or is 36 inches (89 cm) tall, whichever comes first.
  • WARNING: Suffocation Hazard. Infants can suffocate in gaps between an extra mattress and the side of the crib/playpen. Use ONLY the mattress provided by the manufacturer.
  • WARNING: To prevent entanglement, do not place items with a string or strap around a child's neck, such as pacifier clips or necklaces. Do not suspend strings over a crib/playpen or attach strings to toys.
  • WARNING: To prevent falls, do not leave a child in the crib/playpen when the side is lowered. Always ensure the side is securely raised when the child is in the crib/playpen.
  • Regularly inspect the product for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts, or sharp edges. DO NOT use the crib/playpen if any parts are missing or broken.
  • Ensure all locking mechanisms are engaged before placing a child in the crib/playpen.
  • Keep the crib/playpen away from windows, cords, and other potential hazards.

This INFANS product is compliant with US CPSIA and ASTM requirements, ensuring it is made of non-toxic materials, free from BPA, PVC, Phthalates, Lead, Latex, and Formaldehyde. It has passed tests for stability, asphyxiation, load, and shear.

3. Package Contents

4. Assembly and Setup

4.1 Unfolding the Travel Crib

No additional tools are required for assembly. Follow these steps to set up your travel crib:

  1. Open the Pack: Remove the folded crib from its carry bag.
  2. Unfold the Travel Cot: Place the folded unit on a flat surface and begin to unfold it.
  3. Pull Away Sides: Pull the sides of the playpen upwards and outwards until you hear an audible "click," indicating they are locked into place. Ensure all four sides are securely locked.
  4. Attach Mattress: Place the soft mattress inside the crib. Secure the mattress by attaching the Velcro straps on its back to the corresponding fasteners on the bottom of the bed.

4.2 Installing the Bassinet (for newborns)

For infants from birth up to 20 lbs (approximately 6 months), the bassinet feature provides a raised sleeping surface.

  1. Ensure the main crib unit is fully assembled and locked.
  2. Place the bassinet mattress into the upper position of the crib. The mattress is designed to fit snugly.
  3. Secure the mattress using the integrated fastening system to prevent shifting.
  4. Always ensure the bassinet is level and stable before placing your child inside.

5. Operating Your INFANS Travel Crib

5.1 Bassinet Mode (0-6 months or up to 20 lbs)

The elevated bassinet position is suitable for newborns, making it easier to access your baby. Always ensure the bassinet is securely installed and the mattress is properly fastened. Do not use this mode once your child shows signs of pushing up on hands and knees.

5.2 Playpen Mode (6-36 months or up to 33 lbs)

Once your child outgrows the bassinet, remove the bassinet mattress and place the main mattress at the bottom of the crib to convert it into a playpen. This provides a secure and spacious area for your toddler to play and rest.

5.3 Side Zipper Door Function

The INFANS travel crib features a convenient side zipper door. This allows older toddlers to crawl in and out independently under supervision, or for parents to easily place or retrieve their child without excessive bending.

  • To open, locate the zipper on the side panel and pull it down.
  • To close, pull the zipper up until it is fully secured.
  • Always ensure the zipper door is fully closed and secured when the child is unsupervised in the playpen.

6. Care and Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your INFANS Travel Crib.

7. Troubleshooting Guide
