1. Introduction

The Retevis EZTalk 3A Motorcycle Bluetooth Headset is designed to provide clear and reliable communication for motorcyclists. Featuring Bluetooth 5.1, CVC noise reduction, FM radio, and IP65 water resistance, this headset allows for intercom communication between two riders, music sharing, and hands-free phone calls, enhancing your riding experience.

2. Package Contents

Verify that all items listed below are included in your package:

3. Setup & Installation

3.1. Mounting the Intercom Unit to Your Helmet

The EZTalk 3A offers two mounting options: a screw-on clamp or an adhesive mount. Choose the method best suited for your helmet type and preference.

Option 1: Screw-on Clamp Installation

  1. Loosen the two screws on the back of the clamp using the provided Allen key.
  2. Slide the clamp onto the edge of your helmet, ensuring it is securely positioned.
  3. Tighten the screws firmly to secure the clamp.
  4. Slide the EZTalk 3A unit onto the mounted clamp until it clicks into place.

Option 2: Adhesive Mount Installation

  1. Clean the desired mounting area on your helmet thoroughly.
  2. Peel off the protective backing from the 3M adhesive pad on the mount.
  3. Firmly press the adhesive mount onto the helmet surface for at least 30 seconds. Allow sufficient time for the adhesive to bond before use (typically 24 hours).
  4. Slide the EZTalk 3A unit onto the mounted adhesive base until it clicks into place.

3.2. Installing Speakers and Microphone

  1. Remove the helmet's inner lining to access the ear pockets and chin bar area.
  2. Attach the Velcro pads (if not already present) to the helmet's ear pockets.
  3. Press the speakers firmly into the ear pockets. Ensure the speaker with the longer wire is placed on the opposite side of the intercom unit for optimal cable management.
  4. Choose your preferred microphone type (boom mic for open-face/modular helmets, soft-wire mic for full-face helmets). Attach the appropriate Velcro pad to the microphone.
  5. Position the microphone near your mouth, securing it to the chin bar or cheek pad using the Velcro.
  6. Route all cables neatly under the helmet lining to prevent interference and ensure comfort.
  7. Plug the speaker/microphone cable into the Type-C port on the EZTalk 3A unit.
  8. Reinstall the helmet's inner lining.

3.3. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the EZTalk 3A. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the unit and plug the other end into a USB power source. The indicator light will show charging status.

4. Operation

4.1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the Power button (circular icon) for approximately 2 seconds until the indicator light flashes.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator light turns off.

4.2. Phone Pairing (Bluetooth)

  1. Ensure the EZTalk 3A is powered off.
  2. Press and hold the Power button until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "EZTalk 3A" from the list to connect. The indicator light will turn solid blue once connected.

4.3. Intercom Pairing (2 Riders)

  1. Ensure both EZTalk 3A units are powered off.
  2. On both units, press and hold the Power button until the indicator lights flash red and blue alternately.
  3. On one of the units, briefly press the Power button once. The units will search for each other and automatically pair. The indicator lights will turn solid blue when connected.

4.4. Music Sharing

To share music between two paired EZTalk 3A units:

  1. Ensure both units are paired via intercom and one unit is connected to a mobile phone playing music.
  2. On the unit connected to the phone, long press the Function button (FM button) until the other unit also starts playing the music.

4.5. FM Radio

  • Turn On/Off FM Radio: Double-click the Function button (FM button).
  • Scan Channels: While FM radio is active, short press the Volume Up or Volume Down buttons to scan for the next available station.

4.6. Voice Waking (Voice Assistant)

To activate your phone's voice assistant (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant):

  • Ensure your EZTalk 3A is connected to your mobile phone via Bluetooth.
  • Short press the Phone button (phone icon) to activate the voice assistant.

4.7. Call Control

  • Answer Call: Short press the Phone button when an incoming call rings.
  • End Call: Short press the Phone button during a call.
  • Reject Call: Long press the Phone button when an incoming call rings.
  • Redial Last Number: Double-click the Phone button when not on a call.

4.8. Volume Adjustment

  • Increase Volume: Short press the Volume Up button (forward arrow).
  • Decrease Volume: Short press the Volume Down button (backward arrow).

4.9. Interchangeable Color Plates

The EZTalk 3A comes with blue, red, and silver interchangeable plates to customize its appearance. Use the provided card removal tool to carefully pry off the existing plate and snap on your preferred color.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Water Resistance: The EZTalk 3A is IP65 water-resistant, meaning it can withstand splashes and light rain. Avoid submerging the unit in water. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed when not charging.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting
