4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the package contents are present and undamaged. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
4.2 Assembling the Stand
Follow the assembly instructions provided with the stand to securely attach it to the main plotter unit. Ensure all screws are tightened and the stand is stable before placing the plotter on it.
4.3 Blade Installation
The machine comes with three precise blades. Proper blade installation is crucial for accurate cutting.

Figure 4: Illustration of the three precise blades, their specifications (length 24mm, shaft diameter 2mm, knife point offset 0.25mm, angle 45°), and assembly tips for correct blade tip exposure based on material thickness.
- Carefully insert a blade into the blade holder.
- Adjust the blade tip exposure. The tip should be just barely visible, extending only slightly beyond the blade holder. Refer to Figure 4 for visual guidance on correct blade tip length relative to material thickness.
- Secure the blade holder in the carriage.
- Caution: Blades are extremely sharp. Handle with care to avoid injury.
4.4 Connecting to a Computer
The VEVOR KW-720D supports both COM and USB connections.

Figure 5: Rear view of the machine showing the COM and USB ports for connecting to a computer. It also indicates compatibility with Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10/11 and explicitly states "Not compatible with Mac."
- Connect the plotter to your Windows PC using either a USB cable or a COM port cable.
- Install the necessary drivers and cutting software (e.g., SignMaster) as provided with your machine.
- Ensure your computer meets the system requirements: Pentium-based PC running Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 (32 & 64-bit).
- Note: This machine is not compatible with Mac operating systems.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Loading Material
- Place your vinyl or other cutting material onto the feed rollers.
- Adjust the pinch rollers to securely hold the material without excessive pressure. Ensure the material is aligned straight.
- The two double-spring pinch rollers and aluminum knurled stick help maintain stable paper feeding over long distances.
5.2 Adjusting Cutting Force and Speed
The backlit LCD screen and control panel allow for precise adjustments.

Figure 6: Close-up of the control panel and pinch rollers, illustrating the adjustable cutting force (10-500g) and cutting speed (10-800 mm/s) settings. The digital LCD screen and anti-deviation design contribute to accurate cutting.
- Cutting Force: Adjust between 10-500g. Start with a lower force and increase gradually until the material is cut cleanly without damaging the backing.
- Cutting Speed: Adjust between 10-800 mm/s. Slower speeds generally provide more precise cuts, especially for intricate designs.
- Use the arrow keys on the control panel to navigate the menu and adjust these settings.
5.3 Performing a Test Cut
Before a full project, always perform a small test cut to verify blade depth, force, and speed settings are appropriate for your material.
- In your cutting software, create a small test shape (e.g., a square or circle).
- Send the test cut to the plotter.
- Examine the cut. If the cut is too deep or too shallow, adjust the blade exposure, cutting force, or both.
5.4 Sending Designs to the Plotter
- Prepare your design in the cutting software.
- Ensure the design size and position are correct relative to your loaded material.
- Select the appropriate cutting parameters (force, speed) in the software or directly on the machine's control panel.
- Initiate the cutting process from your software.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your vinyl cutting machine.
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the machine, especially the cutting carriage, blade holder, and pinch rollers, to remove dust and material debris. Use a soft, dry cloth.
- Blade Replacement: Replace blades when they become dull or damaged to maintain cutting precision. Refer to Section 4.3 for blade handling.
- Pinch Rollers: Inspect pinch rollers for wear or damage. Ensure they rotate freely and provide adequate grip on the material.
- Lubrication: Consult the full product manual or VEVOR support for any specific lubrication requirements for moving parts.
- Storage: When not in use, store the machine in a clean, dry environment, protected from dust and extreme temperatures.
