5. Setup
5.1 Initial Cleaning
- Before first use, wash the carafe, carafe lid, and reusable filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water.
- Run two full cycles with only water (no coffee) to clean the internal components.
5.2 Placement and Space Considerations
Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable surface. Due to its integrated burr grinder, the unit has a height of approximately 16.6 inches (422mm). Standard American home cabinets are typically 18-20 inches from the countertop. To ensure easy access for filling the water tank and bean hopper, it may be necessary to pull the machine forward or rotate it on the countertop, especially if placed directly under a cabinet.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Preparing for Brew
- Fill Water Tank: Open the water tank lid and fill the reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired cup marking (2-10 cups). Close the lid securely.
- Add Coffee:
- For Whole Beans: Open the bean hopper lid and add whole coffee beans. The hopper can hold enough beans for multiple brews. Close the lid.
- For Pre-Ground Coffee: Ensure the reusable filter is in place. Add your desired amount of pre-ground coffee directly into the filter. Close the filter basket.

7. Maintenance and Cleaning
7.1 Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
- Remove the carafe, carafe lid, and reusable filter. Wash them in warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. These parts are top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Clean the warming plate with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
7.2 Grinder Cleaning
Regular cleaning of the burr grinder is essential for optimal performance and flavor. Refer to the product overview for grinder component identification.
- Ensure the coffee maker is unplugged and cooled.
- Remove the bean hopper lid and any remaining whole beans.
- Carefully remove the upper burr grinder component. Use the cleaning brush (if included) to remove any loose coffee grounds from the burrs and the grinding chamber.
- Wipe down the inside of the bean hopper with a dry cloth.
- Reassemble the grinder components, ensuring they are securely in place.
7.3 Descaling (Monthly or as needed)
Mineral deposits from water can affect performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly:
- Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts water.
- Pour the mixture into the water tank.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Run a brew cycle. After about half the mixture has brewed, turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for 30 minutes.
- Turn the coffee maker back on and let the remaining mixture brew.
- Discard the mixture and run 2-3 cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse thoroughly.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee does not brew. | No water in tank; machine not plugged in; power button not pressed. | Fill water tank; ensure power cord is securely plugged in; press the Power button. |
| Coffee tastes weak or too strong. | Incorrect coffee-to-water ratio; incorrect grind size; strength setting. | Adjust coffee amount; adjust grind size (finer for stronger, coarser for weaker); select desired strength setting on control panel. |
| Grinder is not working. | No beans in hopper; hopper lid not closed; grinder clogged. | Add whole beans; ensure hopper lid is securely closed; clean the grinder thoroughly. |
| Water leaking from the bottom. | Internal crack or seal issue; overflow from water tank. | Ensure water is not overfilled. If leaking persists, discontinue use and contact customer support. |
| Coffee overflows from filter basket. | Too much coffee grounds; filter clogged; carafe not properly placed. | Reduce coffee amount; clean filter and filter basket; ensure carafe is fully seated on warming plate. |
