5. Operating Instructions
Familiarize yourself with the controls and riding modes of your HITWAY BK3S e-bike.
5.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on, press and hold the power button on the LCD display.
- To power off, press and hold the power button again until the display turns off.
5.2 LCD Display Functions
The multifunction LCD display provides real-time information:
- Speed: Current riding speed.
- Mileage: Total distance traveled or trip distance.
- Assist Level: Indicates the current level of pedal assistance (0-5, or similar).
- Battery Level: Shows the remaining battery charge.
5.3 Riding Modes
Your e-bike offers two primary riding modes:
- Normal Riding Mode: Pedal the bicycle like a traditional bike without motor assistance. The 7-speed gearbox allows for efficient pedaling.
- Assisted Riding Mode: The electric motor provides assistance as you pedal. Use the controls on the handlebar to adjust the assist level according to your preference and terrain.
5.4 Gear Shifting
The 7-speed transmission allows you to select appropriate gears for different riding conditions. Shift gears smoothly while pedaling to avoid strain on the drivetrain.
5.5 Braking
The e-bike is equipped with dual disc brakes for reliable stopping power. Apply both brakes gently and evenly to slow down or stop. Avoid sudden, hard braking, especially at high speeds.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your e-bike.
- Cleaning: Clean the bicycle regularly with a damp cloth. Avoid high-pressure washing directly on electrical components.
- Tires: Check tire pressure before each ride. Inspect tires for wear, cuts, or punctures.
- Brakes: Regularly check brake pads for wear and ensure brake levers have proper tension. Adjust or replace as needed.
- Chain: Keep the chain clean and lubricated for smooth gear changes and to prevent rust.
- Battery Care:
- Charge the battery fully before the first use.
- Do not allow the battery to fully discharge.
- Charge the battery in a well-ventilated area.
- If storing the bike for an extended period, charge the battery to 50-70% and recharge every 2-3 months.
- Protect the battery from extreme temperatures (-10°C to 45°C operating range).
- Fasteners: Periodically check all bolts, nuts, and quick-release levers for tightness.
